Falcon2001 Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 I... I can still feel you in my arms When we were in love and safe from harm I remember... The way it felt to hear you say That you wanted me to stay I remember I remember the hard times and the bad I remember the times that made us glad I remember the things that you would do I remember when I loved you I... Lie awake at night so cold Clutching memories that hurt me so I remember... The time you turned your back on me And how it felt to be disenchanted I remember I remember the way you turned away I remember the things I wanted to say I remember the way we used to be I remember when you loved me I remember the pain of breaking away I remember how I got where I am today I remember the heartache that I went through But I still remember when I loved you.
jonathan_wolfe Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 This poem seems to linger on past love... a deep seated feeling of regret/anger/nostalgia It captures all the paradoxical feelings that occur when two people part ways in life under bad terms.. Though I wonder how "She" feels in all this. Give me more, I hunger for emotion.
Alaeha Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 Umm... First I'll say wow. It reminds me of one of the poems I wrote once, but didn't really like. I still have it in my notebook somewhere, but it wasn't any good. This was wonderful.
Vlad Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 I have to say, this is well written. The repetition works well, coupled with your rhyming scheme.
Sorciere Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 That could be a top ten hit, flows beautifully. Sad topic but aren't all the great songs?
Peredhil Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 When we first met, you didn't hug or cry I gaze in wonder as I consider how little time has gone by. You've grown, you fly, you sing, you cry You love, you help, you - Live again. I am so intensely proud that I've been able to watch you grow, and proud of you. Peredhil hugs
whynotsin Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 It's a situation that happens to all at least once. The poem was very beautiful .
