Depression. It's different for everyone. Someone could have situational depression, or be inflicted with it long term. I'm interested to hear your analogies on the word. :0)

Depression is rain clouds on a breezy summer day, or when no one at all wants to go out and play. But with good friends, nobody can be depressed for long.

"When you're down and out. When you're on the street. When evening falls so hard, I will comfort you. I'll take your part. When darkness comes, And pain is all around. Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down. Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down. "

Depression is the creeping, numbing film that slithers between you and the world turning everything grey.

Depression is halitosis. Be unwilling to smile and let the taint escape, or speak and broadcast it. Be unwilling to breathe in unknown and peculiar patterns, recycling stale air.

Depression is, in Everquest terms, a DOT. It sucks the life out of you over time and, unless you get it cured or otherwise act against it, it's extremely dangerous.

In "normal" terms, it's a poisoned dart. It strikes, often without warning, and does as I stated above.

Depression is giving up and sinking into the black pit that is your life, the endless void that you can't claw your way out of.

Depression is...

Anger unexpressed and unavoidable, turned within to release

Emotional pains carried too long, exhausting, bad begun but no cease

A sudden unexplained down, that lasts a moment, a situation, a day

A devasting illness which cannot be explained away

An alternating cycle of manic highs without rein paid for with mind-numbing lows

A state for some in which they stick, for others a series of flows.

What would we do without you, Zool?

*chuckles*

(((sigh)))

Depression is like poison ivy. It itches and burns. You scratch the surface for temporary relief, and instead it grows, and grows......and grows.
