T)emon13laT)e Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 Oblivion Is it a soul lost in oblivion? Or a soul hidden within your conscious? A thought unwilling to be processed A thought needing the attention Its soul roams the mind free Its haunting presence is a joy like no other It wrangles with the mind just to seek the truth Its insecurities bring the hauntings A pain to breathe in this oblivion Utter chaos- is this deserving? Lost in eternity and unworthy of time Was eternity meant to be a hell? A Flickering Fire Burning fervently in the mind A fire constantly being fed A fire dim at times Always burning nonetheless ‘Tis a fire that requires a kindle This kindle is a rainstorm Why does it ne’er draw near? Is it afraid to hurt the flames? The rain may deceive these flames And yet it brings unexpected growth A flicker- burning bright and dim The flames seem to be lost in dark Oddly, rain lingers around the flames The flames seldom hide from the rain Maybe these flames are an illusion These fires will burn, will the skies bring rain? Two poems I wrote... the emotions I felt are mostly paranoia... unless my fears are true than... i dont know....
Peredhil Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 These are kinda interesting. I did have to read them twice, they jumped around in meter in my mind - which did give them an eerie edgy feel. I usually wince when I see "'Tis" or "ne'er" in a poem, because they're rarely used right. Here I see an exception to the failures. keep posting and I'll keep reading.
Ayshela Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 i *really* like "Oblivion". i think my favorite line is It wrangles with the mind just to seek the truthi've rather a compulsive shidder at the "just" in there, but i hit this line and stall out nodding each time.well done!
