Sorciere Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 I'm not really happy with the title for this one, it's more of something to put in the topic. A little girl sat on the stair And watched me as I brushed my hair I looked to her and caught her eye Recalling thoughts of times gone by I found myself in deep regret Of growing older, wishing yet That I could be a child of four With dreams to dream and so much more <<<>>> I sat upon the wooden stair And watched my mother brush her hair She looked at me with longing eyes Which caught me by complete surprise I envied her, her hair so fine Her olive skin and shapely line How I wished to be stood there Brushing through my long dark hair
Salinye Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Oh, I particularly liked this one. I felt like it flowed naturally as I read it. I also greatly appreciated your use of perspective from both people involved. As a mother, I enjoyed it all the more! Thank you for sharing with us!! ~Salinye
Parmenion Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Simply genius. I loved the split image. Such a unique idea and very well written to boot - what more can you ask of a poem? In this instance - not a thing. Bravo hun!!
