Vincent Silver Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 (As seen from each side) [Terran] Bullet casings hit the ground Screams of pain from all around The blitz fills your senses As the Zerg break your defences Boom, the Seige Tanks fire ahead Bang, A Wraith knocks one dead [Zerg] Rush rush for the Overmind The swarm will destroy all of human kind Let them cling to their pitiful lives We are the true evolution, all else are lies They flee they flee but what's this? Protoss on the horizon to stop this [Protoss] By Adun's will, we must defeat the zerg. None shall still stand on their feet Feel the plasma shield block their futile attacks while the Carrier's let out interceptor behind our backs. Ha they flee, we win by Adun's might But alas, there's not much left after this strife... (Corny I know)
Peredhil Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 I took the liberty of editing it to replace the angled brackets (which were being read as html code) with square ones. Having watched my boys and their friends play Starcraft, and Brood Wars, I can appreciate this. You really gave an authentic voice to the action.
Alaeha Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 Cute... Having played Starcraft myself (Indeed, having made some single-player scenarios so that I could experiment with the triggers and such) I appreciate this one. I would've thought from the title, though, that you would have at least mentioned some of the individual characters such as Kerrigan and Raynor... And perhaps Tassadar or Zeratul as well. Anyway, taking the poem for what it is... I found that the meter bothered me at a few points. For the sake of an example: "the zerg. None shall still stand on their feet" could read something like "the zerg. Let none stay on their feet." I think that would flow better... But it's entirely up to you. Just my two minerals worth.
