Shadow of the Butterfly Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 (edited) Liquid flames of inverted colour Dark green with highlights of black Shadows cast in wild obsoletes Angels, discarded, disfigured, defiled Line long winding paths They leer in despondant mirth At the soul lost to Love A bitter gale howls mercilessly Carrying with it the message of hope out of reach Truly, Hell is that of deprived Love Taunting, teasing, tantalizing Just...out...of...reach Edited May 5, 2003 by Shadow of the Butterfly
Salinye Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 (edited) Welcome, new friend! May I just say that you have successfully and chillingly captured a hell with outstanding imagery. Thank you for sharing, and I truly look forward to reading more of your work. ~Salinye Edited May 6, 2003 by Salinye
Ayshela Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 i really like the vivid description here. The imagery is clear enough you can almost see the path and hear the gale. Only one thing confuses me: Shadows cast in wild obsoletes i'm familiar with obsolete, used as ancient, antiquated, outmoded, out of date - yet none of those definitions would apply here. i'd really like to see the rest of this picture. could you please tell me what this means?
