Psimon Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Dark clouds ************************ Dark clouds break the blue sky fields move with shadows above wind sweeps the green before it as I ponder the meaning of love We talk too seldom you say when we do, just don't feel right I'm too tired or you're too tired ships passing soft in the night I am, at times, not 'lovable' difficult, stubborn, obtuse You can, at times, be more or less but we can, in the end, call a truce The 'feelings' of love, they are tidal sometimes ebb, other times flow but 'to love' is a conscious decision that we make every day as we go.
Peredhil Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 I LIKE this. If a person can't move love beyond that physical rush to become a mental choice and commitment, there is an inevitable cold grey morning when that person wakes up looks over at the person beside them and questions, "Why am I with this person?" If they don't have an answer, the relationship has died, although it may twitch for a long long time.
Alaeha Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 That's about what I was thinking... Not fair! You took my comments away! You thought thief! Anyway, I really wish more people could understand that last bit... The decision to love... It takes conscious effort sometimes. Needless to say, I really like this.
Vlad Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 This seems to be a song more than a poem, that's how it went in my head anyways. Wouldn't go well with the type of music I listen to normally, but hey it's still a really good poem. Pered - be...y...ond... the... ph...ys...ic...al...? (j/k)
WrenWind Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 So many people don't realise how much work it is too truly love someone. The conscious decisions we have to make to follow through. It is a good poem with profound sentiment. Those of us who have made those decisions appreciate this work very much.
Salinye Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Beautifully written. I find I tend to admire all your works, psimon! ~Salinye
Cheyenne Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 True love...an everyday struggle, one with ups and downs, despair and joy...never an easy road to follow, but one well worth the trouble. Very nicely done!
