Deadly Nightshade Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 O Hemlock with thine white flowers and thine deadly seeds I brush thy flowers across mine lips Add thine seeds to my wine With A sip I am yours Take me away from this mortal life and pains O sweet Hemlock....
Vlad Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 I don't know exactly what you were aiming for, but this poem has an impact on me... I am therelly (sp?) disturbed. I feel as though my soul is tainted. I must bathe.
Deadly Nightshade Posted February 14, 2003 Author Report Posted February 14, 2003 Well, I dont know if that is good or bad.... but I am thinking it is good I like impacting poems, anyway, Hemlock had white flowers and its seeds are the deadly part of it, so thats where I got that from
The Portrait of Zool Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 I used to live on Hemlock. No, really... it was my street... Nice go on a gothic theme, as Rune pointed out. Another fine poison is Oleander leaves...
Peredhil Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 that's neat. Short but powerful. Strangely enough, small amounts of hemlock were once a drug of choice in the idle rich - gave feelings of euphoria. (easily killed with overdose, but oh well.) Early herbalists ("witches") used hemlock (Belladonna) in unguents, tinctures, and other lotions for spells of 'flying'. The hallucinations, feelings of vertigo, and disorientation combined with almost hypnotic stupor give the recepient the illusion of desired results. -Peredhil
