DoomGaze Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 The Consequence of Self-Sacrifice ---------------------------------------------- Like a void in space, It evades so swiftly. Moves from place to place, Light flashes so suddenly. The door slams shut, Grazing the end of my nose, The doorknob is before me, but My muscles halt, just froze. The ground gives way below me, But I float, caught by an invisible hand. I'm defying the laws of gravity, But there is more that I demand. Nobody ever wants to hear, The words that I have in store. It frightens them with such a fear, That a single drop can put you on the floor. There is so much self-sacrifice, And yet so little awards. Lacking all the right words and advice, I stumble, I can't move forward. And soon the silence grows with the night, Everything turns bitter cold. Trying to keep up with you, trying to fight, This war has no cause, I have nothing to hold.
