King of Almost Everything

-------------------------------------------------

In a sea of memories, I came to drown,

With so much pain rushing in my head.

And on top of it, I wear my crown,

So beautiful, yet feels cold and dead.

Atop my mountain, I rule alone,

Conquering everything, except for myself.

Hidden behind these walls of stone,

A king, lacking any kind of wealth.

I look out my only window of hope,

Pleading, screaming out in despair.

Wishing that I can climb this steep slope,

To get out of this eternal nightmare.

The raging demon in me lurks around,

Fed by the darkness that resides in me.

My soul vanishes as I fall to the ground,

Death looms at my door, not letting me be.

He knocks, and echoes stir in my brain.

Has my time already passed,

Or is he taunting me, driving me insane?

Only Fate knows how long I'll last.

So I lay there on the cold stone floor,

Watching the lit torches fading.

He continues to knock upon my door,

Only a matter of time, until I can stop waiting.

DoomGaze, Your such a detailed and in dept writer. There is so much there and so much to comment on that when it comes time to comment its hard to figure out something to say (similiar to Tassle for me). There is a very vivid picture painted with your words.. so full that the poem is almost 3D. I always enjoy poems that about half way in I stop reading the poem and the poem starts reading itself.

Thank you for sharing.

Sweet. I always tend to write my poems about waht I'm thinking but you seemed to tell a story and what you were thinking at the same time. Congrats. *Standing ovation* Needles to say, I like.
