Annael Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Yeah, I'm temping as a receptionist and I'm bored...forgive me if you can't really follow this...I was interrupted by everyone and everything around me. Wilting Flowers I sit here in my own little world Wondering if people see things That only others think are real. The lights shinning off the glass The radio playing it's magic And the laughter out of the offices around me. I wait with baited breath For the next ring For the chance to say "Good afternoon..." I hope that there is more to life Then these things around me For if not, it is sad The hum of the city Moving as fast as it can With people who have ceased to care I glance around, my eyes finally open To see the world as if for the first time A world of wilting flowers.
reverie Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 beautifully put compentary on the mild tradigy of every day life left wasted... revery the dreamlost "so what are words for?" the dream continues... Which Colossal Death Robot Are You?
Peredhil Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 Oh M'Dear! How did I miss this jewel? Smacks himself for his prior haste. Lovely reading. -P
Rahsash Geldich Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 A wise person once told me: "Find out what you like doing best, then find someone to pay you for doing it." Perhaps we put too much emphasis on money, not enough on enjoyment when it comes to work.
Annael Posted August 13, 2002 Author Report Posted August 13, 2002 if the comment about work is directed at me, I'm not doing it for the money. I'm doing it so that I can get my college degree. I'm temping at my internship company Being the receptionist is cutting my hours down by tonnes. hehe
