Guest Tyrunn Alberyn Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 In deep, strong dreams, I do invent, a woman that I miss. Does she exist, true out o' my mind, or is she merely air? I keep inventing her again, and hope she is somewhere. --- Hmmm, I'm not quite sure about this one...
Rahsash Geldich Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Daydreaming is fine, as long as you don't seek perfection. Sometimes 'flaws' can make a person unique. Interesting way of stating the concept.
Guest Tyrunn Alberyn Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Heh. Perfection would be boring, and you're right, imperfection has it's good sides, which is quite clear in a relationship I had. Pretty girl, quite smart, but she was a major bitch, and we fought like once every week... and I stuck with her for way longer than any of my other relationships lasted.
The Portrait of Zool Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Some people just push our buttons - and then we find we need them to show us our buttons, or we'll go on blissfully thinking we are buttonless. Eventually we can smile at imperfection, and become satisfied with peace. ~Zool~ Ancient, The Pen is Mightier than the Sword. Bard of Terra, Patron Saint of Aspiring Bards. Nyyark Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Peace is for the dead Zool. Imperfections inspire, as they entertain, want makes the blood flow. Texture gives a grip. Imperfection is what makes rubies red. Imperfection lets you know what you desire. I do think its cool to quest for perfection, as long as you know your goal is in the act rather than the accomplishment. Nice poem.
The Portrait of Zool Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 All righty then... Peace is for the dead? *Zool defensively bobs and weaves, reflecting that some probably didn't have enough crap in their lives to appreciate peace yet.* Wow, what a group. People are inherently evil. Peace is for the dead. Lets look at the implications and alternatives people. Must we always call the negative extreme law simply because of the existance of a variety of experience? Give me a break. Give us a break. Give yourselves a break. D -->D"> Edited by: Zool47 at: 7/11/02 2:36:16 pm
reverie Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 revery likes peace... i get better raises, then ...
Guest Xradion Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 "Must we always call the negative extreme law simply because of the existance of a variety of experiences?" Mwahaha! Yes! Let's all become a cult of nihilistic Death Worshippers! . Just kidding of course. I agree with Zool. As pessimistic as I often am about the future, I believe we should always have hope, and I follow in the footsteps of Monty Python when it comes to looking on the bright side of life . Guest Mira Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 "Peace is for the dead" No wonder hundreds of people are slaughtered each day for little or no reason (murders, genoside, war etc..) When humanity beleives that there is no way to obtain peace then we have sealed our fate. As for imperfections Most imperfections are examples of the stupidity of society as a whole. You have too look this way, and act that way. Why can't we see past societies twisted views and look at the things that really matter. All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.
Guest Foe Calibur Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 Peace is a very broad term, for one peace may be a quiet lunch by the roadside, for another it may be a soft Autumn's breeze on the deck, while for the less fortunate it may be none other than that which we have all discussed... death. There is any multitude of description. It is, however, not so hard to obtain as some may think; as cliche as this wioll sound, peace is a state of mind. Imperfection on the otherhand, there has been littel controversy over, it's what makes us human, and gives us humor, love, sorrow... and essentially -- life. We daydream of what we view as perfect, but with an imperfect mind, flooded with bias and clouded with teh oppinions of our pears, the image will never fit the collective view; but that's just the way it is... imperfection is what makes the perfect society
Guest Tyrunn Alberyn Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 *Tyrunn applauds Foe Calibur*. After the intense discussion I managed to somehow set off, yours is a conclusion I can personally agree with.
