Rahsash Geldich Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 Don't question me on my opinions If you don't really want to know Because the offense you display at them Will make my temper flare and show. I don't do things 'just because' Even though thats why I say I do. Yet I'm trying in some ineffective way To get back in some way at you. "Why do you play such strange music?" "Because it lets me blow off some steam." "Well, why- Are you really all that angry?" Sometimes its all I can do not to scream. I'm forced to be some perfect, golden child And I don't dare to show who I really am. Don't dig in to far, you might not like What I have tried to hide, to bury in the sand. Don't cut down what I have yet to build Listen carefully to what little I do say. One of these days, I'll have had enough And won't care to just leave you along the way. ((Hmm, looks like I've fallen back into my black ranting, sorry Zool ))
Guest Xradion Posted July 2, 2002 Report Posted July 2, 2002 "I'm forced to be some perfect, golden child /And I don't dare to show who I really am. /Don't dig in to far, you might not like /What I have tried to hide, to bury in the sand." I can very much relate to these lines. I sometimes wonder if the high expectations placed on certain individuals are not, in fact, counter-productive. You try to conform to some ridiculous ideal until one day, you inevitably snap. Your outlet for your anger is very healthy, however, so definately keep it up. Art is (in large part) about expressing the passion that moves us. Sometimes, that passion just happens to be hatred or anger. But great art can very much be produced from these emotions as well. Peredhil Posted July 2, 2002 Report Posted July 2, 2002 I wish I could remember the Artist... When growing up, I recall hearing a song on a 78... Chorus: I got the little boy blues, I got them in my heart, There's no use bein' little because you're really doomed from the start. (The little boy bluuuues) My Pa says I'm too bashful My Ma says I'm too bold My sister just won't play with me She says she's much too old (chorus) My teacher's no exception She's just like all the rest She asks me my opinion- Then she tells me she knows best! (chorus) ack out of time! Thought you'd relate to the timelessness of the theme.... -Peredhil
The Portrait of Zool Posted July 2, 2002 Report Posted July 2, 2002 Acknowledging living a lie for someone else is a worthy rant. ~Zool~ Ancient, The Pen is Mightier than the Sword. Bard of Terra, Patron Saint of Aspiring Bards. Elder than dirt, more foolish than a jester, able to trip over the smallest logic in a single step. It's... Oh, you know.
reverie Posted July 2, 2002 Report Posted July 2, 2002 ...nothing wrong with a little black ranting, so as long as it doesn't infest every part of you life and whatnot... plus if nothing else, it's good material to pull from after you've sorted things out, ya know... Anyways, i like the poem... I can see the angst and frustration of someone tired of another person's act of just going through the motions of supposed caring and whatnot... hmm, reminds i really need to find the energy to get back to my darker poems... They're all just sitting there in my unfinished folder, waiting... "come on rev play ball, open a vein for the home team," Aye, all the anger, the frustration, the saddness, the rage, the fear, the freaking soul draining effort of it all... Well it's worth it, i guess, just hurts like hell... Okay, good job rash, also like you un-named story too... revery the dreamlost "um, okay..." the dream continues...
