The Big Pointy One Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I think in some social circles this may count as a poem. Correct me if I'm wrong. ~No title~ What am I, some sort of clay that you can just mould into whatever shape you please? Am I just some sort of ornament on your wall? For you to look at then dust off when you're bored? Who am I to you, just a little child not quite a friend someone you know? Who am I, just some tortured soul to abuse and spin around like a top for convenient pleasure? I don't really know but I'll do it some more if you just tell me why. Rahsash Geldich Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I think this could definitly count as a free-verse poem. A good one in fact. It starts off with feelings of anger and resentment, but the last stanza makes you review it as a cry for help almost, very interesting. ::applause::
Nyyark Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Agreed in value of read and poem. Good job! Edited by: Nyyark at: 6/5/02 10:40:48 am

Gyrfalcon Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 Daryl bounds into the room, and nearly smashes into Stick. He skids to a stop, all four paws planted, and looks up gravely as Stick recites his poem. At the end, Daryl lowers his head and tucks his tail around his paws, then looks up and yips loudly. "Yip!" (which can be translated to: Nice poetry!) And then he bounds off once more.
The Big Pointy One Posted June 7, 2002 Author Report Posted June 7, 2002 Well, thanks everyone for the compliments, it's appreciated, especially since it's a rare event that I actually throw out some poetry for once. As for whom it's adressed to, it could be a couple different people, but at the time I was mostly thinking about a certain girl whom I've much interest for at the moment- and whom I'm constantly fearing is toying around with me. Of course, those fears are usually qualmed, and usually lack reason. Heh. What can I say, I don't exactly have a good history relationship-wise. Oh well, that's life. Guest Xradion Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 Good job! I am curious as to who the poem is addressed. I think that one of the nice elements of this poem is that it could be addressed to an abusive lover, God, the Devil, a malicious school teacher, or anyone with an overly-possessive negative influence for that matter. In this sense, it is somewhat abstract...and I like it that way! Xradion, The Horny Druid, Scholar of the Ancient Arts, Holder of the Eye of Odin.
