Guest Jess Posted May 21, 2002 Report Posted May 21, 2002 I did not write this poem, but a good friend of mine did and I think that people should read it. It's very well written. Nobody's Perfect Sitting in my room Hearing nobody talk, Though the voice in my head I silent and soft. Nobody loves me As far as I know, And nobody follows me Wherever I go. Nobody surprises me With unanounced gifts, The fulesome fog lifts. In my eyes I see The nobody's beautiful- And in my mind I know That nobody's perfect. In my heart I feel That I belong to nobody- But in my soul I sense That nobody's drifting. A dark mood's impossible When nobody's around, But now I am dismal Because nobody's gone. At first I had no one And nobody came, Then nobody left And I decended again. Down into the depths Of my own fervid world, My demons engulf me All because of nobody. Nobody's Perfect Sparks of my sanity Are still floating adrift, But only enough To know waht I've missed. My memory lingers To nobody's face, Her features were subtle Yet beautifullly placed. Her bright, green eyes, Her sweet, red lips, Her auburn hair, Her slender hips. All working together With her smile To burn an angel Into my mind. I'm no one since nobody left, The angel that rose above. She found another spirit, She found a brighter soul. Love is hard When it's never returned, And though short lived The wound still burns. My eyes see white, My mind is scarred, My heart still beats, But my soul is charred. So I end this note With a sullen tone; Nobody's perfect, But I'm still alone. Go ahead and read it twice. It'll sound different if you do.
Wyvern Posted May 21, 2002 Report Posted May 21, 2002 Well written poem. I particularly like the rhyme scheme and the use of repitition of the word "nobody" throughout the poem, as well as the way that at the end of the final verse, "Nobody's perfect" is revisited to reflect upon the themes of love and lonliness. I would recommend that you encourage your friend to join the ranks of the Pen! [image]http://members.shaw.ca/kea/am/wyvy.jpg[/image] ------------------------------ Almost a Dragon... Guest Xradion Posted May 21, 2002 Report Posted May 21, 2002 A very clever poem. Reminds me of a political cartoon I saw that promoted "No One" as the ideal presidential candidate for Argentina, because "No One can solve the financial crisis! No One will crack down hard on political corruption! No One will turn this country around! So vote No One for president!" (LOL and crys at same time). Anyway, like I was saying, an excellent poem. I share Wyvern's sentiments (as is quite common). Tell this person to JOIN THE PEN! Xradion, The Horny Druid, Scholar of the Ancient Arts, Holder of the Eye of Odin.
