Rahsash Geldich Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 ((Yet another song, I'm in a lyrical mood today. The "Far Far away's" are sung softly, accenting he words, but not obviously.)) This thing in me, I want it away Far, far away From me, it doesn't belong, not here It washes away- away- away All my confidence and leaves just fear It doesn't belong in me, not here My heart, my heart it washes away Washes away Far far away Don't do this to me, you go or you stay For I'm washing and waxing and waning away. My heart is a thing inside my chest, Far, far away It used to stay firmly locked away Don't look, don't feel, try not to be real Be far, far away But lately its gone and run astray My heart, my heart, you're washing away Wand'ring away Far far away Don't this to me, you go or you stay We're washing and waxing and waning away. My heart is someone that I can't see Far, far away The two Hearts joined and flew far away I don't know what to do, I'm so lost So far, far away I'm feeling to much and it hurt Hearts trying to cover in a frost. My heart, my heart, all's washing away Far far away Away like the moon Don't do this to me, you go or you stay All's washing and waxing and waning away Far... Far... Away....

Guest Xradion Posted May 17, 2002 Report Posted May 17, 2002 Nice. At first I thought that the speaker (or the singer, in this case) was attempting to deal with their own inner shyness, and the pain of emotion. However, it later becomes clear that this is the result of a lost love, a love that is now far, far away, as distant as the moon. I also like the way you incorporate imagery of the moon and the tides, which, as we all know, are interrelated. "All's washing and waxing and waning away." This really reinforced the line, "Hearts trying to cover in a frost," for me, because I not only got the image of a heart freezing to mask emotion, but also of the very ocean freezing over, and perhaps also of the moon drifting so distant from the earth that the ocean waters were no longer affected by its gravity. Very well executed. Keep it up! Xradion, The Horny Druid, Scholar of the Ancient Arts, Holder of the Eye of Odin.
