Boo! Hiss!

Ha! J/K. Interesting, the drama in detail, the cleverness wrought from delicious wordplay. This is a great example of a well illustrated thought. It delivers by it's thoughtful questions, it's self investigation - staked within one egoistic trap after another, and then synching everything together in the end with the perfect knot, the title word.

Very enjoyable.

Elder than dirt, more foolish than a jester, able to trip over the smallest logic in a single step. It's... Oh, you know.

I am a poor poet,

Pondering perplexions

Of my own mind.

And some poets of old

Were closer to blood

Than ink in their writing.

But I write in lead,

Though I may as well

Be writing in blood,

Seeing how contaminated

The tap water is these days.

But that is a lie!

For I write in graphite

And in the ink

Of computer printers.

Composition on a screen

It would seem is not quite

The same as the ink

And paper of old.

For truly, this poetry is poor.

What is the point of

This exercise, this enterprise?

You know you will be criticized

For undertaking this art.

What sets it apart

From that which has come before?

What a bore it would be

If we did not see

Innovation.

Do you hope to instill a

Sense of moral right in your

Reader? Why

Must all your writing be

So political?

For I cannot bear to see

The suffering around me

Such inequality really

Need not be, don’t you see?

Yet despite all insight,

Sometimes poetry is nothing more

Than an exercise in circumlocution.

It's not one of my best poems (my worst will never be seen, for they have all been destroyed ), but I decided to post it anyway. Glad you enjoyed it, though. I'm kinda running out of material for the moment (eh hehe).
