Guest Adelaide Erindale Posted April 8, 2002 Report Posted April 8, 2002 Faster than anyone before her, The wind blows through her hair. Running from her past... Running to anywhere. And She runs... Never stopping for too long... A quick rest before moving on. Perhaps a while to sleep... But she's off again before dawn. And she runs... Fear courses through her veins As much as her blood If her fright were water, It might cause a flood... And she runs... Running from everyone Running from everything Running onward, faster, farther, Running like a bird on the wing... And she runs.
Tralla Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 I echo Ozzy. It's beautiful. Simple, yet the imagery it evokes is very impressive. Wonderful poem, Adelaide.
Gyrfalcon Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 *Gyr applauds* Simple, yet it so easily draws images in my mind.
Ayshela Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 Fear courses through her veins As much as her blood this is a pulse-poundingly beautiful description. i like this whole piece, but this is beautifully crafted.
Regel Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 (edited) I enjoyed this very much. As a high school student I learned to drive a standard on my dad's old 1967 Ford Rambler. You know the kind. Three in the tree and a qt of oil a week. The one line in the entire story that reminded me of this old car was the line And She runs... Edited November 18, 2003 by Regel
