Ozymandias Posted March 27, 2002 Report Posted March 27, 2002 As I lay upon the floor there crept a writhing, blackened spoor I knew not what it wanted as it moved along the door It oozed and squirmed and made a hiss a gun right now I began to miss but it was the fever, nothing more But I couldn't be so sure... It undulated up the wall spreading out into the hall I wished fervently for the holy man or shotgun of horror movies of yore I tried to sit up, delicately and a noise like a frying pan being broken on the shore echoed through my skull so I lay back down upon the floor I lay there, still all of my veins throbbing convulsing with hot fire as the pain began to soar I swore I saw a penguin as my vision clouded into blissful darkness and cursed softly, "Next time, I'll take the damned Tylenol I can always buy the more."
Gyrfalcon Posted March 27, 2002 Report Posted March 27, 2002 *Gyr smiles and applauds* If this is based off a fever you had, I'm sorry! Never had a fever that bad, though... interesting (if scary) poem.
Tralla Posted March 28, 2002 Report Posted March 28, 2002 that is so cool! crazy creepy scary, but very cool. Nicely done, Ozyboo.
Nyyark Posted March 28, 2002 Report Posted March 28, 2002 Lol I liked it. Fever dreams can be cool. I once remember being told 'Yes Oliver we both have the glowing purple weazel tail of shame'
Ozymandias Posted March 28, 2002 Author Report Posted March 28, 2002 Thanks, all. :>) *grumbles* Ozyboo...sheesh! This was actually born in one part of Poe's "The Raven", another of a fever dream I had where I was being buried alive in my parents' upstairs hallway by Raphael (of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame) and the final part of a marathon redeye cram session I did for my junior year in high school's midterms. It's one of the oddest sensation in the world to quite literally be awake and dreaming. I swear, my mind had shut down and headed into REM sleep except for this one corner that was staring at my bedroom and feeling acutely aware of having stretched on my english textbook AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. Needless to say, I was *not* rested the next day.
Guest Zephryin Posted March 28, 2002 Report Posted March 28, 2002 What strain of the flu did you get?!? I never got that one, just crappy, week-long, feel-like-(Insert expletive here) strains, never saw anything cool...Except for maybe the porcelain of the toile-but no one wants to hear about that. * Looks at Ozymandius enviously* Edited by: Zephryin at: 3/28/02 6:46:06 pm
Peredhil Posted March 29, 2002 Report Posted March 29, 2002 Ozy', Staying awake for seven straight days playing Role Playing games can give somewhat the same effect. Or driving for four days straight blasting strange musical mixtures. Or at least, they did for me.
Guest Vulturegirl Posted March 31, 2002 Report Posted March 31, 2002 hmm, I can't edit, but I meant catchy
