Rahsash Geldich Posted March 10, 2002 Report Posted March 10, 2002 A dove sat on a tree, Its branches black and twisted Reaching towards the moon: Can you hear the dove cry? It weeps for the children who lost their mothers It weeps for the vetrans who lost their brothers. It weeps with the childern wanting love: These are the needs for tears of a dove. A harsh wind whips its feathers And it flies towards the stone steps Of the cathedral in the distance: Can you hear the bells weep? They cry out for every repentant innocent, They cry out to bring in the ignorant. They cry out to the feathered love: They too have need of the tears of a dove. The dove is weeping silver tears Specially wept to ease your fears. Come my child, come to me, I will wipe your eyes so you might see. See the dove cry. The dove wept for Juliet when Her love died, and she for him. It was tainted form the start: Can you hear the dove cry with her? The white dove flew over the camp With its black wire twisted skywards. A starving child weeps for her father: Can you hear the dove crying? Come my children, come to me, Let me wipe the tears so you might see. See the dove cry. It weeps its tears for you and I So we can hide ours when its time to cry. The purest tears are tears of love. The purest of those are Tears of a Dove.
Gyrfalcon Posted March 10, 2002 Report Posted March 10, 2002 *Gyr applauds* Whoo, nice! I like this, slightly sad, but wonderfully written.
Falcon2001 Posted March 11, 2002 Report Posted March 11, 2002 Very very good stuff here, Rashash! Good god I hope I spelled your name right...but anyway, one thing I must applaud you on is the fact that the poem wasn't just Love, Dove, and Above rhyming over and over again...I swear, I get really ticked off at those poems. Good poetry, you're progressing quite well. Guest Heart Like A Hole Posted March 11, 2002 Report Posted March 11, 2002 I echo the sentiments of Gyr, Falcon, and gwaihir - this is a beautiful poem with a very smooth, flowing rhythm. Thank you for sharing your voice with others. I truly enjoy your work. ~Porcelain "Heart Like A Hole"
