Justin Silverblade Posted January 6, 2002 Report Posted January 6, 2002 Just a little thing I came up with recently, thought I'd share it. Against the World, Friend… The lights of the big city, People drinking coffee and tea. Horns blare, people stare, And the mail always late in delivery. Against the world, friend, it’s you and me. Everywhere within our world, Are the wonders; around us all. Treasure every single bit of life, No matter how big, nor how small. And below the big conifer tree In the forest, nature be, Without fault, in it’s assault, Covering the land with greenery. Against the world, friend, it’s you and me. And through it all, keep friends close For in this world we hold so dear There is the but one treasure, Worth one’s complete ear. The great blue yonder, the sea, Full of quiet sparkling unity. Peaceful sleep, among the deep, Beauty kept for eternity. Against the world, friend, it’s you and me. Needless pearls, gold bars too Experience is the better rate. Not of trips or travels, but with Who you walk, does bear the weight. But what of the air, its destiny? And the clouds above, and their journey? Wistful ways, eternal days Their spirits be free in their symphony. Against the world, friend, it’s you and me. O thoughtful ways and hopeful dreams I need but one thing in life to win. Be it friend, family or even foe, I need those whom I can call kin.
Peredhil Posted February 7, 2002 Report Posted February 7, 2002 I like the elemental progression. Peredhil hugs some trees. I like the sentimental expression. Equating family and friend, P agrees.
