Wyvern Posted October 19, 2001 Report Posted October 19, 2001 Conversion confusion. This should be the 3rd post in this thread. A head of cobwebs, grown old with age...? That's hardly a thing to debate You're age shouldn't be a concern or problem You're only 28! Still bursting with energy, constantly determined And gentler still to boot You're determination to post despite your dilemma Shows you're bravery's still accute. Writers block is a kind of disease... One without a "cure" But be confident with your writing, trust in your skills And you'll conquer it, I'm sure. If you feel unable to currently post This is not that big a problem The Pen is also a great place to read (Or tax the initates and rob'em ) Whenever you feel like writing something Just make sure to post it! We always love reading over your works And the Pen's a great place to host it. On a final note, don't stress yourself Writers block's not uncommon Many posters, such as Zool and myself Have faced the exact same problem. P.S: Wyvern apologizes to the members of the Pen For the rhyming patterns and things He realizes he's by no means a poet Just an overgrown lizard with wings. ;p ------------------------------ Almost a Dragon... "My life is like one big crime: I try to scheme through it." -Common, "The 6th Sense" Owner of the Decanter of Endless Booze.
Peredhil Posted October 19, 2001 Report Posted October 19, 2001 Conversion Confusion - this was post -2- She's taught a Wyvern to rhyme! Her fame she'll never lose Clearly now's the time To recognize A Poetry Muse. Suggested title: Wryter's Blok.
Guest Cheye69 Posted October 20, 2001 Report Posted October 20, 2001 Conversion confusion - This is the Post that starts the thread! Any ideas of the name would be appreciated as I seem to be fresh out myself.... A slipstream of poetry enters my mind Only to be forgotten with the next rhyme How do I find that word or phrase In this head of cobwebs grown old with age Is it really age that does me in Or my own inability to look within The door in my mind is firmly locked I think I heard it called writers-block I need to find that key at once Else be forgotten or thought a dunce I have no clue of where to look Having already tried my favorite book Maybe I should post an ad That seems to be the latest fad Be it Shrubbery, Beasts or any other The classifieds will have it cover to cover
Ozymandias Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Cheyenne, I love this. So often we see nothing but metaphor in a poem -not that there is anything wrong with this- but seeing a rare take on telling a poem's topic in the form of wistful and a little sad introspection (plain speech) with metaphor entering only as accent, as one would use it in normal conversation... Very smooth, very classic style. The last stanza works very well. At first it was jarringly different from the rest of the poem because of its nonsensical content, but I read it a second time, and it suddenly clicked: the only loose connection to the rest of the poem, the esoteric message in it, this was the stanza to show your muse was back! Awesome! Peredhil & Wyvern, Great responses in a very Dr. Seuss-esque narrative form. :>)
Cheyenne Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Wow, I had forgotten about this! It is so wonderful to look back and go "oh, Yeah!" that really was me! I miss you all so. I have been out of the writing game for over 3 years now...I am happy with the 2 published poems I have. I just miss the minds behind my muse...as it was you all, most especially BP, Wyvern and Ozy. You all are wonderul and always on the edge of the most amazing dreams I have! Cheyenne, aka: Jini
