Gwaihir Posted October 16, 2001 Report Posted October 16, 2001 Posted by Myth, and dedicated to ~O~ who got me thinking in haikus (and probably won't like this dedication Taught to hide my pain, Coldness was our way of life. I learned to be brave. They laughed at my tears. Said only the strong can laugh, Forced me to survive. Tough way to grow up. A cliched angry young man Who wasn’t even male. [~O~ suggests that my dedication makes it unclear whose growing up I'm writing about. I mean Myth's, only the style is taken from ~O~.]
Peredhil Posted October 17, 2001 Report Posted October 17, 2001 Raging Inferno I've learned to trust is to die My knife is MY friend. Gauging weaknesses I move through society But my eyes smile not. The crucible test To kill innocents unknown, I passed - and died too.
Ozymandias Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Gwai - *snaps fingers appreciatively* Well done. Reading them really felt like reading a poetic opening to a new fantasy novel. :>) "A cliched angry young man who wasn't even male" That in particular caught my eye - and spurs me to want to read more on Myth. Apparently there're some things I do not yet know...or forgot. Pered- Evocative as ever. Yow. O_O
Gwaihir Posted September 24, 2006 Author Report Posted September 24, 2006 Wow had I forgotten about those. Da-am I didn't knwo this still existed. Ozy, by the way that haiku comment was about living in a man's world and living a fighting, testosterone filled lifestyle Book's still in first draft .
