Guest lumpenproletariat Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 We hear the annual drums thunder, Be young or old, you cannot escape. Free, you may not be, As enslaved you now are. Adroit persona in tow, Cabaret Room of Justice - here we go! As you walk up the line, Awkwardly dragging your feet behind. Exalted upon a throne before you, Your blazen Deity resides. "Hark! Down on the list you shall go" S/he deems, "Title sentencing has passed!" Succumb in fear if you are not there, Judgement day has gone. Occur to you it might, Luck is.not.in.sight. The first person to find the hidden message gets a cookie, a really good cookie, a really good shiny cookie infact, for only then shall I loose my weenie title, help me find the hidden message! Help me loose this burden! Well I try my best To be just like I am But everybody wants you To be just like them They sing while they slave and just get bored I ain't gonna work on, nah I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more
Peredhil Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I know! I know! It's found by taking the first letter of each line! This was the inscription on the 3rd ring of Hobbits Three Rings for Elven Kings, Under the sky Five for Hobbits, Deep in their holes Seven for the Dwarf-lords, in their Halls of Stone Nine Rings for Mortal Men, Doomed to Die One Ring to yadda yadda yadda. So we have Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WBFAAC AAEYHT SJOL -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Which in the Black Tongue of Mordor, instituted under Melkor, called Morgoth the Enemy, the original Dark Lord of whom Sauron was but a servant and master of werewolves - but I digress. Translated from the Black Tongue, it means.... Insert Drumroll here "I'm come over a bit peckish, Ring of Cheese, find me some cheesy combustables"
Guest lumpenproletariat Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 cheeeeeeeeese? That does sound good *eats* Well I try my best To be just like I am But everybody wants you To be just like them They sing while they slave and just get bored I ain't gonna work on, nah I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more
Gwaihir Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 [no, I'm not back till the sixth, and I'm not changing titles till, I get back, because it would drive me crazy to do any of that on this darnded mac] So, will I get a cookie if I've gotten it Then I wouldn't be as hungry smile I'll munch and crunch Happy! !!!!! I admire Wiggly Cabbages! I sit around and Pine for one, in vain. Can I have a Cabage for winning? !
Guest lumpenproletariat Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 *thinks peredhil should be working, not reading* I see your name up there on that list Mister! ;P
Guest lumpenproletariat Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Alas, he may have missed my post o_O
Guest Tyrion The Great Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 'Weenie Awards Suck' lumpen doesn't want me to give you guys the format. But then again he has strange motivations, he got me here saying: «@ lumpen» go work it out tyr «@ lumpen» beat Gwai «@ lumpen» as she doesn't have it
Guest lumpenproletariat Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 He got it quicker than you Gwai, sorry buuut, *gives the shiny cookie to Gwai* As Tyrion is a meanie edit: (And Gwai still got it first anyway)
Vincent Silver Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Hey I'm the master of shiny stuff after all my name is Silver!
Guest Tyrion The Great Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Stupid, ignorant, idiot or even total moron So have I often been called by others. Rarely has it been justified or true, but There have been times where I deserved it. Truly this is one of these moments. I misunderstood what I was asked to do. Deeply troubled by this I am by this, so Right after I found out I felt I needed to do something, And that is why I am writing this 'poem' if you will. If I need to apologize more I probably will too. Right after I am done I will think of an alternative. Knowing you guys, I probably won't need to, for your Understanding is great and so is your tolerance. I do think Gwai could have written a better answer, And we probably all agree on this matter.
Guest Tyrion The Great Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Third paragraph, first line. Take out one 'by this', whichever you choose.
Falcon2001 Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 ...how on god's green earth did you notice that, Peredhil? Not only is it way out of the way, but I didn't even know that the black language could be translated...unless you're joking and I'm taking it way too seriously. I need to go learn elven.
Peredhil Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Tolkien skipped the number 5 in the poem... There is no Hobbit Ring of Cheese. I admit it - I made it up! Muahaha!
Guest Blondemoon Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 yes, but you were very convincing about it had me fooled about the black tongue...and I've even read Tolkien
