Gwaihir Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 This poem almost felt too personal to post, but I don't know why I shouldn't so I did To Elizabeth You’re tough. No one can ever make you cry, ‘Til you’re alone. Your pain is your secret. You’ve always been like that-no matter what: Fractured your leg being a daredevil, And then you walked on it, all the way home. You balanced on a slanted third floor roof, Purely to hang a silly pineapple. You act very unreachable these days. As you grow up and everything changes, Lizzy, some things just need to stay the same. One of those things I rather wish you’d keep Is you and me-Sisters. Edited by: gwaihir1 at: 10/16/02 9:11:50 pm
Gyrfalcon Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 Walked home on a fractured leg? *winces* Ouch. *applauds* Good poem, Gwaihir- show it to your sister. (If you haven't already done so)
Gwaihir Posted October 16, 2002 Author Report Posted October 16, 2002 I will. My mom and I are both giving her a poem, so I'm waiting for my mom to write hers . Edited by: gwaihir1 at: 10/16/02 9:12:05 pm
Vlad Posted November 1, 2002 Report Posted November 1, 2002 Does your sister ever read stuff at the pen? Quite well written, if I do say so myself, old chap.
SoaringIcarus Posted November 1, 2002 Report Posted November 1, 2002 Dear Gwaihir, I do very much enjoy this poem, and the work of yours on The Pen that I have read thus far. Nyyark13 suggests that we have a great deal in common, and that topic is something I would be very interested in conversing with you on a more private occasion. My e-mail is AncientAutumn@opendiary.com, and I hope to learn yours sometime, but I must get back to my own devices, before returning to the room in which I left Nyyark13. I look forward to speaking with you. -Icarus Edited by: Nyyark at: 11/1/02 1:10:30 pm
