reverie Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 08OCT02 Wrote this for a friend... kinda interesting looking at it from the other side... Holding on and Holding off… Words so tender Words so soft… A brillant wonder of a boy Wants the things that bring me joy… But the lanterns beaming much too bright Casting shadows in my sight -As we play the game. -As we play our games… But holding on and holding off Love so tender Love so soft Knowing that your heart is true The world exists for others too I’m not a Sunshine in your sky… For me you do not have to die But holding on And holding off Much to hard, to shake the thoughts: -That we need a little space to grow -And we need a little time to slow… So down the line, if time sets in Should be fine, if ya try again … So holding on And holding off Forgetting all the time we lost Rebuilds the glimmer into flames -As we play the game -As we play our games… revery the dreamlost "al lo" the dream continues...
Peredhil Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I'm not so sure that technically, this wouldn't be a Library piece... but it's here. I liked the use of repetition to establish the flow. I thought the visual element was also well done. Plus, it's a good poem.
