Guest foxglove4543 Posted September 6, 2002 Report Posted September 6, 2002 Friendship, love; they come and go When they'll cease, we'll never know Families could well separate Ending in much grief and hate Yet life goes on; accept this fact For no one ever made a pact To stick through thick and thin with you Nothing from Life's overdue But live life to the fullest, friend Despair not when you hit THE END For life goes on; you'll somehow live And you'll regain the will to give...
Guest Lord Seth Exodus Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Yes! Oh, Foxglove, I have such admiration for you right now. You have just made the perfect poem - I think, anyhow. Not only did you stick to a traditional rhyme scheme, but you also tackled one of my favorite - and at the same time, most despised - topics. I often say that life is plodding along and dragging me along behind it. I like how you address some of the most important aspects of life in the first stanza: family, friends and love. The outright statement that no one has said they would stay with you untill the end is very bold, and true; I respect and admire that. But, the way you encourage, after such discouragment, in the final stanza is also really good; a calm after the storm, if you will, as you slam down the facts of life in a very out right manner. Your rhythem is consistent and flows very well. Yes, I like this poem very much. Bravo! Yours, Lord Seth Exodus Initiate of The Pen
Guest foxglove4543 Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Thanks, Lord Seth Exodus! Glad that I managed to get this one out not too bad ... lol...
Guest SaberCoEP Posted October 4, 2002 Report Posted October 4, 2002 I think I agree 100% with Exodus.. To go from such harsh reality, to a place where all becomes well.. Brilliant if I can say so.. You stuck with that rythym, and carried it throughout the poem.. One thing I myself have a problem with.. Congrats on an excellent poem. Keep up the great work. For the end is never seen, always heard and rarely understood.
