Part 1 The brilliant sphere flared brightly under the assult. Energies powerful enough to rend entire worlds apart crashed like the sea against a rock against the protective barrier that held the plane in limbo. The sphere, of course, was a mere figment of imagination, as was the plane-a convinent representation for the two weary intruders floating in imagined space. Every planewalker saw things differently, but master and studens most often had the same view of the cold void. "Why are we doing this again?", Valdar asked his mentor, still slightly irritated about being roused from his quiet hideaway. The dreamer didn't awnser. He never did.
