Hope for Dawn

The days all mix together,

With dreams of days past.

My smiles and my tears,

My hopes and my fears.

 

What worth is left,

in life these days?

An emptiness that leaves,

Me empty and alone.

 

A new day dawns,

Bright and promising.

Should I hope,

For better things?

 

When everything is dark,

Any light seems brighter.

Is it a false dawn,

Or the thing for which,

I dare not hope?

This really captures the emptiness and exhaustion after a relationship dies. I remember feeling this way.

In the chasm of exhaustion

Broken deep inside

Tried too hard

Clung to the past

My heart ripped open wide,

 

I could not envision yet

Hey...is this turning into a topic poem line? I can do lonely and depressed pretty well...altho lately my style has been more of the 'goofy lame' type...

by the way, nice job both Peredhil and TheOtherOne...those are good, they express emotions very clearly...

An emptiness that (The god of Pathos, says go for it, and let it linger, as you shake you're head and smirk a little when you say it on stage)

 

A new day dawns, (Not sure, how you're doing it, but you're making it work. It takes something really genuine to make a cliche work for you, ya know)
