The Portrait of Zool Posted June 27, 2011 Author Report Posted June 27, 2011 (edited) A brilliant flash momentarily dazzled Her vision. When it cleared she saw the photographer rapidly exiting the room. She looked around dazedly, wondering where she was and what was going on, when she noticed the man next to her. He wasn't moving. She gave him a tap, then a shove. He was dead. "Oh dear," she thought sadly, "And he had been so full of life last night... at the cheese festival." Edited June 27, 2011 by The Portrait of Zool
cryptomancer Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I wonder if the vampire community considers the blood of a bubbly young blonde to be effervescent?
Gwaihir Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 (edited) He looked down at his pupil, and even as she cringed, she admired even the disgust that showed in every line of his gorgeous face. It was the most amazing thing she'd seen, although he looked like he'd caught her eating sh--. "How do you expect to be a properly gloomy vampire when you drink the blood of bouncy things like that?" Edited June 29, 2011 by Gwaihir It kind of breaks the word association idea if you edit, but I found a better word. What can one say!
The Portrait of Zool Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 Darkness abhors the light
Norman Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 is it at all possible that the mythos surrounding a certain cryptozoological creature has been misinterperated and now has people seeing things in a small lake with a funny name? I mean could the ancient folk of the beautiful highlands have actually been telling their children of the Darkness Monster who would come and get them if they didnt go to bed on time? After all, sundown was bedtime in a world before electricity, allowing the older members of the Clan to spend time around the fire and tell of their day fishing the small and deeply mysterious lake known as Loch Ness.
cryptomancer Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 I stood at the shore of Loch Ness awaiting the chance to see the famed monster... Yet he didnt appear... there is a good chance I was simply in the wrong part of the world, the mountains here seem a little too small, from memory.
Norman Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Memory seldom makes mountains seem small, there has been such comments made before, about the task of memory that befell the mortal mind and drove it unceasingly onward to the brink of sanity trying to establish why the thing on the lawn with the small blind rodent thing within it resembled such a monument of nature.
The Portrait of Zool Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 The sea was red and the sky was grey,I wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today. The mountains and the canyons started to tremble and shake as the children of the sun began to awake. ~From: Going to California, by Led Zeppelin~
cryptomancer Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 I never understood the saying, "going down like a lead balloon" mainly because I believe that Led Zeppelin are the only band ever to get a standing ovation for a song at it's first playing in concert... the song was a gem too "Stairway to heaven" Mind you... if everyone else stood up... the Led Zeppelin while on stage would have appeared to move down reletive to everyone else... so i suppose it works.
Norman Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Why do I want to hear a "Jem and the Holograms" version of "Stairway to heaven" now?
cryptomancer Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Written in the stars are these words of warning; "Climb not the silver stairs of mist, tread not the air of night, for he who stand within the clouds, will burn with Heaven's light."
The Portrait of Zool Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 Is that a warning, or a cosmic invitation?
Gwaihir Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Beware of making an invitation to the Gods. They might take you up on it.
The Portrait of Zool Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 The answer: Let it happen. The question: How does it happen?
cryptomancer Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 it happens because those that happen to pass, make it, in their passing, moving air, stirring spells and sprite and spirits to play and dance and wake the day to see the light of the sun so bright, and so... it happens.

cryptomancer Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 Dark is the depths of the boiling cauldron, Deep is the dark of the brew that stirs, Smooth the wood from the lightning cleaved yew, Dance upon the grass of solstice, Drenched eternal in the fire lit dew.
Norman Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 bubble bubble hiss and gurgle coffee brew and frother burble fluffy milk and cinimon sprinkle lets just hope this one's drinkable.
Freya Baggins Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 The only thing more uncomfortable than snorting milk out one's nose is snorting hot sauce or salsa. Also, coffee... but that just burns with a different kind of hurt...
cryptomancer Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 Jack Daniels is also not very comfortable to do that with.
The Portrait of Zool Posted July 4, 2011 Author Report Posted July 4, 2011 True - though JD does make a great paint thinner!
Gwaihir Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 If a creative and skilled wall/house painter were to drink some of their "paint thinner" while using JD in that way and given as many colors as they wanted, I wonder what would result.
