James Crow Posted May 11, 2011 Author Report Posted May 11, 2011 Theme 21: Vacation Mother Working all the time to keep the house clean. Working all the time to make sure the children are fed. Working all the time, covering others so they can go have fun. When is it my turn?! Where is my day off!? Asking all the time, Could you keep the house nice? Asking all the time, Could you make sure the children are fed? Asking all the time, Could you cover me so I can go have fun? Why is the answers always no!? What would happen if I wasn't around?! Tired all the time, the house gets messy! Tired all the time, the children don't eat! Tired all the time, the others have to cover themselves! Who dragged her down this far?! US!! And we're sorry mom!
Snypiuer Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 My mom would always say that we would probably dig her up after she's dead to ask her where our underwear was. Then again, she'd also get mad and say that she finally understood why women leave their families. It wasn't until she screamed, "NOW I KNOW WHY WOMEN KILL THEIR CHILDREN!" that we would think, "Oh s***!" and IMMEDIATELY start doing EVERYTHING she had told us a thousand times to do!
James Crow Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 Theme 22: Family Father When I was young and scared of the dark. I would run to his side of the bed. He would take me back to my room, tuck me in and say, “Whether it be a tornado, a volcano, an earthquake, or a flood. I'll be there for you. No matter what!” As I got older, I was no longer afraid of the dark. No more need to run to him, or so I thought. My car broke down in the middle of the night. I called him up and he said, “Whether it be a tornado, a volcano, an earthquake, or a flood. I'll be there for you. No matter what!” Then the day came for me to become a father. I was so terribly scared that I ran to the phone. Talking to my father calmed me down. I told him I can't wait to have a son. Every time he needs me I'll tell him, “Whether it be a tornado, a volcano, an earthquake, or a flood. I'll be there for you. No matter what!”
James Crow Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) Theme 23: Cat Black Magic The night grew darker the wind picked up and we all knew I was out of luck! A cat came into view. As dark as the void and as mysterious too. Coming closer it morphed, into a witch! Then, I remember no more... Edited May 13, 2011 by James Crow

Sits an hourglass that never moves, and the possessor has all the time in the world. Just because someone removed all the sand. Edited May 25, 2011 by James Crow
James Crow Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 Theme 25: Lurking Danger RMS Out at sea, no more danger surrounding me. Out of Europe, the captain says we'll reach America soon. Out on deck, I see large mounds of ice. Out by the captain, he says this ship is unsinkable. Out in the water, he said everything would be fine

James Crow Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 Theme 27: Foreign The Lone Violin Sitting in a corner by a chair, lies an old violin and a bow of horse hair. Every time someone plays, it takes them elsewhere. The place the go can only be described as a nightmare. Memories of places and people they loved, shatter like glassware. As tears fill the violinist eyes, people stare. Now no one will dare, play the violin of nowhere.
James Crow Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 Theme 28: Sorrow Widow's Walk Standing on the widow's walk, you begged him not to go. Tears fill your eyes, As you watch him sail into the red sunrise. Clouds form overhead, you surely know that he is dead....
James Crow Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 Theme 29: Happiness Red Sunrise Sailing into a red sunrise, paying no attention to your wife or the tides. Not hearing, Thunder nearing! As a great storm picked up pace. To the shore you decided to race. Not seeing, Wife fearing! Your boat gets smashed on the rocky shore. Returning you say “You'll sail never more.” No more crying, No more chance of dieing.
James Crow Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) Theme 30: Under the rain Park Ave. Rainy day outside no chance to run and play must stay inside. Garb an old board game I could play this all day Although it seems all the same Landing on Park Avenue Sister owns it, now I must pay. Man, do I wish the rain ends soon. James Crow Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 Theme 31: Flower Rosa rosa, rosa, rosa.. Why do you tempt me so. Why do you show me beauty That I can not hold. rosa, Rosa, Rosa.. I watch you sway, I watch you dance, In the warm summer breeze You showed me romance. Rosa, ROsa, ROSA! Grant me a wish, As I slowly compose. A poem to win the object of my heart, And help me win her love with a rose.
James Crow Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 Theme 32: Night Summer Knight It was a stormy summer night. You stood crying under a flickering streetlight. Putting my hand on your shoulder saying Everything alright? He left me, left me all alone. saying good bye, with no might! He might have left you but I'll remain by your side, your white knight. As I wiped the tears from your eyes, you smiled as bright as a beam of light.
James Crow Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 Theme 33: Expectations Heart A human heart just can't start to be understood. It keeps us alive deep inside and makes us sure we know. It pumps the blood it pumps the love through out our body. And when we're close you can almost hear only one beat slowly. And when we kiss you can not miss the increase in tempo. Now I ask, can you unmask anything that does more?
James Crow Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 Theme 34: Stars Love Some compare their love to a rose. Earthy bound, roots that hold, colors that hide the thorns below. But I compare my love to a star. Heavenly stuck, nothing around, a flame that hinders the ability to be held.

Tavarilyn Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) A reply, and in poetic verse/form no less (intentional?). -smiles- Trust me when I say I understand the imposition of life on the creative. You've got an impressive body of work here. I'm on #5 and you're in the upper decades already. -chuckles- So it goes, yes? I look forward to more. I see an insight in your work and I like it. Your unconventional view of the conventional is refreshing. ..... and thanks for the comments left for me .... much appreciated. Short stories? I look forward to a prose version of your poetry. Blessings of creativity and inspiration to you, Tav Man, I need to get my act together. I have all the poems, just not had the time to post them. Sorry, I am realy sorry. Just give me one more day. James Crow Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 (edited) Thank you Tavarilyn, and I may be some where in the double digits and you only on your singles still. But yours are all great, where mine have highs and lows. Times with the muse by my side, and others times, she forgets my name. My short stories will take a little more time, but my dream is to write a novel. I'll start that challenge, when this one is done. But now for my collection of poems. ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ Theme 35: Hold my hand I was thrown in the gutter nobody thought I was any good. You came along and said, Take my hand? I never forgot about that day. Though the time in the hourglass slowly fades away. Then I saw you, down in the mud. Tears filling your eyes. He left, he left. Was all you could cry. Hold my hand, I'll take you away from this place of the damned. Just hold on tight and everything will be alright. With a look of doubt in your eyes, you took my hand, and never let go. Now we stand on an alter, so driven to make are vows last forever. Edited June 10, 2011 by James Crow
James Crow Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 (edited) Theme 36: Precious Treasure Time Capsule There is a box in the back with all the memories of my past. The treasured time when we first kissed, the picture of me proposing to you, a picture of the birth of our first, his graduation photo, a piece of his wedding cake, a family picture of us and our grandchildren. Slowly I start to realize that the greatest treasure to me, was my whole life. Edited June 17, 2011 by James Crow
James Crow Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 (edited) Theme 37: Eyes Court of Peers Everyday, just walking to work. I am on trial, for sins I didn't earn. They watch me judging, praising me, for works I did not commit. All of this pressure, befuddles and confuses me. Now I am confessing, tears that didn't sleep, eyes that fall. James Crow Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 Theme 38: Abandoned I abandoned all hope and filled with fear. Till I met you and held your hand. Then hope was restored, and fear abandoned.
James Crow Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 Theme 40: Rated A+ Ever since that first grade, I slowly saw my life degrade. Always trying to get back to the top. Always sliding down without stop. Never getting any better, only able to get worse as my face gets wetter. Now why, why did I get graded, from the start!
