James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) Theme 88: My choice (I could chose anything I wanted, can you guess what it was?) Standing on the beach can you feel the rising tides. Say hello, say good-bye. Dream of money fame and wealth, the tides will provide. Say hello, say good-bye. The tide brings you all you ever dreamed. Say hello, for someone has said good-bye. Now at your feet lies all the riches and people you need. Say hello, to all those that died... James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 89: Through the fire I was kid, full of youth, I did so many things, damn the cost. Then an old man came to me, saying, “You'll be running across a burning bridge, trying to get back what you thought you lost. I know you don't understand, but you will someday, kid.” Seemingly in a puff of smoke, my childhood was gone. Friends and family, all the good times and money, where gone, all gone. That is when I saw an old friend, some words started creeping in to my mind. They said, “You'll be running across a burning bridge, trying to get back what you thought you lost. I know you don't understand, but you will someday, kid.” And I knew he was right. Even a bridge that you started to burn down, might be worth the cost, to run back over it, damn the lost!
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 90: Triangle The first little man built monuments, the second little man built skyscrapers, the last little man built replicas. Are we ever going to go back, to bing the first little man.
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 91: Pain In your eyes show all the pain, the lies. The tears you hide, the secrets that lie inside.
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 92: Drowning Listen, listen to me! Have you forgotten, forgotten what you use to be! You use to stand up, against the world. You use to hold me up, above the world. Making sure I didn't stumble, or drown. Now you are the one, I fear, that's going down. But remember, I said remember! That I will stand up, against the world. That I will hold you up, above the world. Just don't fall.
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 93: Give up Pandora, Pandora, Why open the box? Giving us the pox. Now people lie in graves. Wondering why they weren't saved. Pandora, Pandora, look what you have done. Killing so many peoples' fun. Yet you shouldn't mope, for you also released hope. Pandora, Pandora, hear the man open the door. He came to kill you, or do something more. From him you shall accrue, a simple thank you.
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 94: Last hope I saw this world burn of ice. I saw this world freeze of fire. I seen people yelling at the nice. I seen people whisper at the ire. Now I am blind. Now I can see. Darkness is light. Despair is hope.
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 95: Advertisement Man on the corner says he's down on his luck. I say, “Boy aren't we all, and it sure sucks!” Lady on the corner looking for love. I say, “Sis aren't we all, but it isn't in a black dove!” Preacher on the corner speaking about god. I say, “Father aren't we all, but it is no good!” Sign on the corner showing a product with all the answers. I say, “Aren't we all!”
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 96: Sleep Close your eyes, say good night. Let all the fright slip away, tonight.
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) Theme 97: Safety first Put on your helmet, when you ride your bike. Put in your mouth guard, before you start a fight. Put on your eye wear, before you use the power tools. But what do you put on, before you fall in love? Edited July 29, 2011 by James Crow
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 98: Ant Little black ant on the sidewalk. Do you know where you walk? Under the feet of giants, you march, after a hard day at work. Little black ant on the corner. Do you where you ponder? Under the scowl of giants, you wait, after a hard day at work. Little black ant on my finger. Do you realize that we are near? Yes, and I will always love, you dear, after a nice day at home.
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Theme 99: Solitude A Poet Sitting at a computer, alone in his room. A quite man types, all the things on his mind. Love, lost, regret, for all those things he has never done, and all those he wishes to forget. Wishing, hoping, dreaming, that one day will come. That two eyes will watch him, those two eyes of his love. Yet he realizes, deep in his soul. That the love he longs for will never come, if he is not willing to let go.
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) Last one, Theme 100: Relfection Ever have one of those weeks that you reflect on your past, just to see what lies in front of you. Nothing...nothing is what I see. An empty road, both behind and in front of me. Little flickers of light....dreams? No, nightmares are what they seem to be. Failed hopes, splatter on invisible walls. Tears floating in front of my face.... they seem out of place. I don't cry...I hardly dream a dream that always becomes a lie! Now I rest...no more. Time seems to be a test, pass and you may reach the other door. But beyond that door lies horror, traps, and more. Forgotten, never knowing the next turn. Even after reflecting all is black...no more son. Edited July 29, 2011 by James Crow
James Crow Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 I'm done, no more poems, no more rhymes. Now I have, so much time. This challenge is horrible. Every theme I looked forward too, was destroyed by the time limit. But now that I am done, I can start on stories. Thank you all for reading this and thank you Mardrax for starting it. I will rewrite some of the poems I didn't like, but that is not here, nor now. So good night, and thank you all. Also on a side note, I wish all the luck I have, to everyone else that tries to do this challenge.
Appy Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Loved your last Seriously, well done for doing this. You have my respect! One day I might dig through them all for some gems, I know they are in here Good luck on the story writing, I look forward to reading them
Snypiuer Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 WOW!!! An astounding achievement! Well done! I could go on and on! Actually, anything I say can't do justice to what you have achieved - SO, I've PM'd you about the FREE MIGHTY PEN T-SHIRT you have more than earned and letting EVERYONE know that there are STILL two shirts that they can try for! AGAIN, congratulations - when I grow up, I want to be just like you! P.S. Where are the stories !?
Peredhil Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 One of the reasons that I made time when online to swing by was to see what you'd written. difficult challenge, and well done in accomplishing this. Some of them are rough, but many gems look unlovely before they are polished. Well done indeed.
Mardrax Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 I'm a bit late in doing this, a I apparently dropped off the face of the earth, but well done! Congratulations! It's good to see I've inpired someone to this greatness.
