dragonqueen Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I slit their pretty white throats. My knife is sharp, sharp, sharp. One after the other, their pretty smiling heads separate from their slim, dainty bodies. Running, leaping, loving, I get them all. I slice and dice and rearrange. I am Dr. Frankenstein with paste. Beauty fragmented, reinvented. Necks, arms, legs, all at the wrong angles. Beauty composite. My mad creatures come to life, spinning, dancing, leaping across the page in a frenzy of smiles and pale skin and dewy eyes. They jump to my command in a whirlwind of twisted limbs. And then it's snick, snick, snick. On to my next victims.
Vigil StarGazer Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how this is related to college.... but I do like how you use repeative words "sharp sharp sharp" etc to emphsize your point.... Maybe you are in a cattle butchering class?
dragonqueen Posted November 6, 2008 Author Report Posted November 6, 2008 Not college so much as collage - I've spent the last weeks cutting up images from magazines and what not and gluing them back together in creative ways. Thanks for your input, everybody!
Harmonious_Echos Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Duh, COLLAGE, as in the art of putting together a picture from several small peices of other pictures or objects...NOT "college", aka a place where the government attempts to coagulate our creative minds into one blah society...Kind of like they're building a collage...uh, dictionary anyone? heh... I like this poem. It reminds me of the Anime 'Evangelion'...the part where the girl's spare bodies are blown into a million bits and swim around in the cloning tank giggling insanely...uh, I'm going to go stick my head in a blender now.
