Patrick Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Warning: if you haven't read the first two books of George R.R. Martin's series, then contains spoilers. Chaos is the rule in the Seven Kingdoms. The king is dead and others have taken his place. War rages in the lands and bandits prey upon the week. Lannister, Stark, Baratheon and Greyjoy are all at each other's throats and no one cares enough to keep the roads safe. Yet some have to travel and it is so that a group gathers in an inn alongside the kingsroad. Their destination is King's Landing and they believe in the strength of numbers. Sign ups are now open! If you don't know the series, then I won't say that Wikipedia is a good source, because it contains way too many spoilers that would ruin a future reading of the books. Suffice to say that if you don't know the series it's medieval fantasy, with the fantasy being very low, almost inexistant. So knights, damsels, squires, war, bandits etc... Sign ups shall be open until about the 9th. Roles are roughly: wolf(ves) - a bandit, is taking the group towards a trap seer - someone who has dreams that sometimes come true baner - someone who doesn't sleep too well
Tanuchan Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 I'm in, will think about a character. Patrick, are we allowed to be members of one of the big or smaller families (that is, to have allegiances)?
Patrick Posted February 26, 2008 Author Report Posted February 26, 2008 You can be whoever you want in the world, as long as it's not a named character from the books.
Tanuchan Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Seara Ryswell, 16. Beautiful, with long whitish-blond hair and very light green eyes, she is traveling with her little sister and an escort to King's Landing, where she will meet her promised husband. Seara behaves as a proper young lady of a noble house, and is usually annoyed at her brattish sister who has just decided that in this trip she will find a wolf cub to have as a pet, like the sons and daughters of House Stark to whom their own House is sworn to. If anyone wants to play Seara's little sister, please go ahead
Akallabeth Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 (edited) Please let me know if this character needs modification to fit the setting. Wolfram Waters At twenty-four years, he is of normal height, of heavier than normal build, and has black hair that is prematurely graying. Wolfram is traveling south to King's Landing as a recruiter for the Night's Watch, and will return to the Wall upon completing this duty. Just like when he is on duty by the Wall, he wears chain mail covered in a black cloak, carries a longsword, and shoulders a small pack of supplies on his back; this burden is as natural to him as mere clothing would be for any other. He generally keeps to himself, though he may make exceptions for prospective recruits, or for individuals he has begun to trust. Edited February 27, 2008 by Akallabeth
Ozymandias Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Routh Kurston Spice merchant in his middle age. Thick brown hair that he wear down to his shoulders, yet is not only flecked with grey, is begining to recede across his scalp. Slightly wrinkled around the eyes and mouth. . Calm to the point of seeming perpetually sleepy. Polite, slow to act, honest. Reaction is a bit faster than his actions. Wears fine fabrics all the time. Works equally with perfumers and farmers.
Researcher Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Joran Griswold, 30, leader of lady Seara's escorts. He is an experienced fighter, and his family has worked for the Ryswells for generations. Outgoing, also easygoing, is however a fierce and loyal fighter. Has been chosen personally by Lord Ryswell to lead the men escorting his daughters to King's Landing, and considers his ultimate duty to guard them with his life. ... let me know please if this fits the setting...
Patrick Posted February 27, 2008 Author Report Posted February 27, 2008 ... let me know please if this fits the setting... Looks fine.
Mynx Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 Apparently, a wolf wants me to play...*looks pointedly at Tanny* Will come up with a character this weekend Edit - sorry guys. Too much going on in RL. Have to count me out of this one
Patrick Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 Hmmm...four players isn't just quite enough.
Tanuchan Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Well, we are not in a hurry... let's wait a bit and see what happens
Savage Dragon Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Jasper Cornelius, 24 Jasper grew up in a small family of farmers in a kingdom not so far from here and left in a huff at the ripe age of 17. If you ask him why, he'll tell you it was out of boredom. 7 years later, he's very much the wiser and only a little less likely to run into a fight... in fact its more of a saunter. Not known for extravagance, you'll usually find him wearing a simple white shirt, plain brown pants and his worn boots. Were it not for the belt of knives he wears around his hip, you probably wouldn't notice him at all. He keeps the knives very sharp and very close at hand, and his skill with those knives is only matched by his skill at drinking.
GLJordan Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Dane of the Ornate Helm 24ish A fighter found on a battle field with a very bad head wound and no memory of who he is. He is good looking and a very good fighter. The only thing he knows is how to fight so he hires himself out. The first thing he did with his first pay was buy the best Helm he could find. He is currently hired by the people in the escort.
Patrick Posted April 10, 2008 Author Report Posted April 10, 2008 So we have: Tanuchan Akallabeth Ozymandias TheResearcher Savage Dragon Giles Jordan I think I should be able to run a nice and short one-wolf game with just six people. So, is everyone of that six still around?
Tanuchan Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I'm ready I'll see if Mith can play. When are you planning to start the game?
Mithrandin Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I think I can manage enough time to play now. I will come up with a char on the weekend!
Akallabeth Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 Excellent Though after this game, I expect that I won't be playing WW for a while. Summer break = less internet access time :/
Mithrandin Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 (edited) John Deere, 18. John lived his life in the farm of his father, which he will inherit one day like his father inherited from his father and all his childhood he has worked there. His acquaintance of the real world comes only from when he has to travel to a market or an ocasional night at an Inn, usually when traveling for a market. And that is all he has done since he was 12, accompanied by his father. As I am not familiar with the books, I think it fits any medieval set, if anything is not quite as it should let me know Edited April 12, 2008 by Mithrandin
Patrick Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 Game thread shall be up either tonight or tomorrow morning.
Researcher Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Apologies for the lack of answer. I am still here too!
Patrick Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Posted April 14, 2008 Game thread is up! (link) Roles have been sent out. If you haven't received a PM then you're a villager. There is one wolf, one seer and one baner, which means that there are four innocent villagers. It is now dayphase, you have 48 hours to lynch someone. (that 48 is approximate, I reserve the right for ~12 hours plus ...posting in 48 hours would mean another post snuck in from work ) Players are: Tanuchan - Seara Ryswell Akallabeth - Wolfram Waters Ozymandias - Routh Kurston TheResearcher - Joran Griswold Savage Dragon - Jasper Cornelius Giles Jordan - Dane of the Ornate Helm Mithrandin - John Deere
Tanuchan Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 As extra info, Marisia is Seara's little sister. She's 11, a bit plumpish but very energetic; she sees no point in being a "proper lady", as she sees marriage as something to be avoided ("see how Sea changed after her betrothal, now she just talk about houses and babies, she doesn't have the time to be with me anymore"). She would rather stay with the boys than with her sister, and in this journey would probably try to escape her and talk to every person around who is not expecting her to be a "proper lady".
