Silver WInd Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 The awkward line breaks, and use of puntuation in this poem were done intentionally Early Bird It lay upon the table, a letter not yet answered, but soon to be left long forgotten. The phone had rung with no given response; red light now blinking steady. An old friend who tried to call as the time went by, finally thought I would say hi; to my surprise there was blood crusted on the walls, sheets lay astrewn; a smell rose most foul for what had been this person I once knew. Now a bloating corpse; guess I had come too late.
