Silver WInd Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Letter to a Solider (Dedicated to someone very special in my life) Now that it is over you are left sitting in the dark While memories of nightmares keep you awake, and you wish you could take it all away A piece of you lost buried in the desert forever, trying to pick up all the broken pieces I have seen the pain within your eyes, now you feel less then you use to be for all your suffering And now that you are home, so many of your brothers and sisters still fighting for their lives and all for nothing but lies How the youth has lost so much, more then they should barely entering adulthood they have seen more then many an older man ever would Their bodies have been broken and their minds left shattered, and for what you might ask, not to protect you or me not to liberate the oppressed but for one mans war lust and insufficiency So close your eyes and try to sleep, I will wash away your pain, and wipe away the tears.
Peredhil Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 It'd be nice if all soldiers had someone to support and understand them. Well done.
