Quincunx Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 George, George, George of the Jungle, strong as he can be. . .
The Portrait of Zool Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 One of my favorite songs: George, George, George of the Jungle, Strong as he can be. (Ahhhhhhhh!) Watch out for that tree! George, George, George of the Jungle, Lives a life that’s free. (Ahhhhhhhh!) Watch out for that tree! When he gets in a scrape, he makes his escape With the help of his friend, an ape named Ape. Then away he’ll schlep on his elephant Shep While Stella and Ursula stay in step. Welll . . . George, George, George of the Jungle, Friend to you and me. Watch out for that . . . tree! (Lyrics & music by Stan Worth and Sheldon Altman Original Air Dates: 1967 - 1970 (ABC) )
cryptomancer Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 OMG!!! I'm about a third of the way through reading the insanely funny A Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson for an upcoming class, and I just learned that Bunnies really are evil. rev... I know Aussies that hunt rabbits with explosives, mostly dynamite and hand grenades. but read up on the mouse plagues that Australia has, the pictures are wondefully amusing.
Mynx Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I don't know why but this makes me think of a scene in Bryce Courtney's "The Power of One". At one point the main character is enjoying his simple friend's rabbit stew and the friend makes the comment that "Rabbit goes meow meow, I go bang bang!" The line that made me laugh afterwards was the character saying he finished the stew anyway - it was just that good My 2 cents of randomness for the day
The Portrait of Zool Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 A bit stringy for me, but hey, when you're hungry... tastes like chicken!
The Portrait of Zool Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Yo DE. A word to the wild: Next week I am having the wood floors in my house refurbished. This means I must dismantle my computer, and may not get it set back up for possibly a week after that. I will be dropping by when I can from work and such but what little free Pen time I had is severely curtailed. Hope to be back up shinier than ever soon!

Mynx Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Two white lines and a square, right? *makes intermittent beeping noises*
Sweetcherrie Posted September 11, 2006 Author Report Posted September 11, 2006 *throws a shiny in the hugbin, then shakes the bin till the shiny is all the way on the bottom* For the person willing to wade through the hugs...
dauna Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 *eyes hugbin speculatively* What exactly is in there, now?
Patrick Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 *takes a hug from the hugbin* In other news: I'm really annoyed with this internship...just today and three more days to go afterwards, but my boss wants me to finish loads of stuff...loads of boring/annoying stuff...
Venefyxatu Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 That's what interns are for, isn't it? Seriously, though ... almost there, don't give up now :-)
Patrick Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 As far as I saw, interns do all the crap work the people here don't want to do...
Quincunx Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Whispered conversation, punctuated with waving ears. "Okokokokokokokokokokokok!" Ears flattened to shut out the noise. Whirring, clanking, tortured squeal of die-cast metal. Heap of hugs trembling, going concave, tumbling down. A squeal, a pounce! "SHINY!" Ears flee from beneath the hugbox. Machine and gnomie, under heap of hugs, under hole in hugbox.
