The world just had no colour,

The sky seemed one blue stain,

The clouds were dark & grey,

People never laughed,

Always so much pain.

 

 

Tree's were never green in summer,

Flowers never came into bloom,

Birds they never sang their songs,

The sun did'nt shine at all,

Never bright was the moon.

 

 

The sea never ebbed & flowed,

Or came rushing to the shore,

Somehow not so blue,

The colour never changed,

Seemed somehow less pure.

 

Now that you are in my life,

The world's a nicer place,

The sun now shines,

The moon is now bright,

Seems your love has made things right.

I told her when in a foreign land,

Couldn't even hold her hand,

Tried to speak it in her tongue,

But when I tried it all went wrong.

 

And so, instead, I used my own,

And said words harder than any punch thrown,

It took all I had to tell her how I felt,

I thought my face would surely melt.

 

Across her face, a look of shock,

She saw I was serious, began to take stock.

She said she had to think a while,

And we both took a look at the obvious stile.

 

And then that night, she showed me yes,

My heart soared high, my soul felt blessed,

Though I know I won't see her for a long old time,

I know she'll never leave my mind.

Sends horror fleeing as it should,

Makes my dreams free of fear,

I only wish she could be near.

I know it's not just for a while,

Her voice still lingers in my ear,

I know right now that she's the one,

I want to spend my life with her,

I only wish she could be near.

 

There's someone now, I long to see,

She makes my life seem good to me,

The only thing for which I shed a tear,

Is the fact she can't be near.

with blooms of brilliant red

but I will be here for you

as much as possible instead

 

I can't promise you perfection

for perfection I am not

for I am like the rose

thorns and all I've got

 

I can't promise you wealth

with money to shower away

But I can give you my love

to share throughout each day

 

I can't promise you the stars

for they are out of my reach

but I can show you romantic walks

holding hands along the beach

 

I can't promise total happiness

and never a tear in your eye

though I can give you my word

that in every way I will try

 

I can't promise eternal life

for this is not mine to give

but I can love and support you

everyday in which we live

and I'm not leaps above the rest

but then you will never know

However our distance rips me apart

It seems I’m crying tears of blood

That drip slowly down my face

 

A clutter of feelings running wildly through my body

Inflamed by uncontrollable waves of emotion

Scrambled thoughts hang on

Praying for peace of mind

Unable to calm this overflow of emotions

Filled with what seems to be indecision and misdirection

 

Feeling so lost without you

Trying to get a grip on myself

Desperately aching to share life with you again

Slowly losing control of myself

 

Wondering what has happened to me

Screaming out in both delight and pain

Words lost within

Echoing over and over

In a shallow state of confusion

 

Realizing the indescribable feelings

That love has brought upon me
