Love Slam

[Savage Dragon]

I won the Love Slam contest at my HS (Go me!) and i did it without even attending thanks to a friend (Go Mike!). So i guess somebody liked them... here they are

 

She Says it everyday

And I always feel the same way

The warmth that cannot be described

That her words touch inside

Those words that she speaks so freely

Make me feel, well, touchy-feely

Without worry, without fear

She speaks those words so sincere

Words of love, not desire

Fills my head with visions of fire

Simple words that burn my eyes

An effect, I fear, she does not realize

When the world looks too much like the mirror

I can close my eyes and hear

Words; heard by many, understood by few

Three simple words...

 

And the second one

 

"L" is for the way you look at me, "O" is for the only one I see

"V" is very, very extraordinary, "E" is even more than anything I adore

Love is getting a little too cliché

Not something we mean, it's something we say

Nothing more than lyrics to a song

It no longer lifts us up to where we belong

The Beach Boys say Don't Worry Baby

cause I Think I Love You says David Cassidy

Jerry Maguire said the words, "You complete me."

and a thousand heartthrobs cooed daintily

I used to think those people lived in a fantasy world

But that was before I met Jesse's Girl

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer

meant much more to me once I'd met her

New meanings to old phrases for those that care

Can't Buy Me Love, but we can share

What I'd do without you? God Only Knows

I Want to Hold Your Hand and Never let go, never let go

So here's looking at you kid, cause really you are so beautiful to me

Don't Speak just Knock Three Times on the Ceiling if You Want Me

Cause only The Luckiest People know what I'm talking of

I like how you constructed your second poem out of a bunch of one-liners from songs. I caught most of them, but I'm sure there's a few I missed.
