word_eyes Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Roses in marbles that never quite bloom dying of thirst in a watery room drinking the path that I've laid to find my way back to who I left behind running in circles, I couldn't quite see the path that I lost, led back to me.
gjunon Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 to be lost is to not know yourself. you must first know yourself before trying to know others. it is a hard lesson to learn one that took me a long time and a painfull one
Tattered Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Finding out who you are is a lifelong struggle. I have found that who I am is infact pieces of everyone I've known...everyone who has affected me. It's all wrapped up into the person I am. Who you are grows...changes...hopefully evolves and advances. Life and trials help determine a person. Your reactions may even surprise you at times. I struggle with who I am and who I want to become...everyday.
Parmenion Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 Finally with all your ambiguity in other posts you have managed a very real stroke of genius! The metaphorical quality of this small but superb piece is second to none. The fact that you realise that the poem discovers that the answer to any problem within any person's life resides within them is a mark of self-discovery and a lesson to anyone reading this poem. Remarkably though provoking with a very important message. Well done word_eyes!
