Beautiful Nightmare Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Do you know how it feels, To be used and thrown away? To just be a stand in, For someone with a different name. Do you know how it feels, To be broken and toyed with again? To forever be the broken doll, On the second looked at shelf. Do you know how it feels, To cry yourself to sleep? To never be that girl, That makes your heart leap. I know how it feels, To only be a friend, To put on a brave smile, And hide my love till the end
drummondo Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Do you know how it feels To waste away, unused? To idle in the wings While another steals the show? Do you know how it feels To be never made at all? To never be a child's toy Or sit upon the shelf? Do you know how it feels To lie cold and dry inside, To be just another girl To make his heart sigh in defeat? You know how it feels To be made, and used at all, To be called upon to act In place of others not-so-bold. You know how it feels To shed tears of pain and joy, To lay plain emotions, good and bad, And smile when needed most. To be a friend should not be scorned, And whether known or not, By putting on the bravest smile, You show your love for life.
reverie Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 being stuck in the friend zone always a sticky place to be... try leaving or hooking up with someone else... that always sends a message. rev...
gjunon Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 i agree with rev no matter how hard you try how much you sacrifice things will never be what you want them to be perhaps its time to look else where?
Sweetcherrie Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 So put on your brave smile, and show life who you are. Flick your hair in the wind, and proudly show that scar. Then you’ll know how it feels, to be loved by yourself. To not longer be second rank, but on the eye height shelf. You’ll all let them feel, that you can let him go. To show them he’s not worth The bottom of your soles.
Beautiful Nightmare Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 Thank you all for your encouragement i really am thankful for it and the poems by drum and sweet! you guys are just so cool thank you! *hugs* It is true that i must look else where, and thanks for reminding me that being a friend to someone is worth more than a relationship which might end and destroy everything!
Parmenion Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 In answer to the poem - yes, i think we all do But would you rather be crippled with self-pity or respected for your self-worth? Thats a choice you gotta make. As sweet so finely suggests in her response - "and proudly show that scar". Good poem made better better by the responses.
