Beautiful Nightmare Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Mellowing in my dreams, Your heart consoles me there, Nothing is what it seems, I hurt at your stare. Your face reminds me, Of the person i used to be, Of the man i used to see, Of the girl no longer me. I clear the pages Of all my dreams, Of all my hopes, Of things to be. I unwrap the thread, Of all that was held. I unwind my heart, Watch as it falls dead. Down in the dark, I sit alone, With many surrounding, I act as a drone. Functioning little, Caring none, Knowing that I, Have lost my one.
WrenWind Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 I wrote this before I saw this post but i think it is a good answer. One Step at a Time Taking the first step is excrutiating Wish for instant death So much pain is overwhelming Stumble and fall Look behind then take another step Crumble inside, now at a crawl Dazed and confused Heart ache so fresh One foot in front of the other Another step another breath Awareness of self You are still breathing Stand a little taller Walk a few more steps Feel more alive Scrub the tears from your face No more looking back All that matters lies ahead *hugs*
HappyBuddha Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 This is a pretty good poem on its own merits - knowing the story behind it makes it a real kicker. *Hugs tight* Not much to say here that I haven't already said.
Sweetcherrie Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 First I'd like to say that this is a poem that touched my heart. The feelings of confusion that you experience are well translated, and the last stanza to me feels as if you look for affirmation. I stronly believe that there is not just one person in the whole wide world that can answer to our needs and desires. Furthermore, I think that these needs and desires change over time, and that the relationship needs to change with it. If this is not the case then how can this person still be "the one" for you? You are a warm and caring person, and I am certain that you will meet your prince, but he might just be riding a black horse instead of a white one. Try to look beyong the boundaries, and know that there are people here that will always be there for you. *hugs warmly* Sweet
