Sweetcherrie Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Please remind me Remind me that you care Care what happens Care who I am To you About what can be Please remind me Remind me that I care Care what happens Care who you are To me About what might be Please remind me Remind me that caring Should be enough Enough for you And me Care about what might never be Please forget me Forget that I cared Cared what happened Cared who I was To you About what could have been I’ll forget you Forget that you cared Cared what happened Cared who you were To me About what will never be And my tears slowly flow When I realise that you must have been ….a dream
Regel Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Caring alone is never enough. Care enough to call and say hello. Care enough to visit and spend some time. Care enough to stand up and speak your mind (even if you know it's not a popular position). "I care but I did nothing." what a confusing message. I care Sweetcherrie enough to acknowledge that this was an emotional poem and a true friend is someone you don't have to explain this to. They are just there.
Bboy Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 (edited) This poem makes me feel emotional in a very quiet sort of way. While it isn't charged with heavy words, and vivid images, it brings a very deep sort of feeling inside of me. I like the structure, and the way the poem is set up. It feels like the person is enduring a sort of misappropriated relationship, and we get to see his/her apathy in a chronological set of happenings. I think that's what makes it so...emotionally far away, yet all strong and stuff. I dig it, truly. Good stuff. Edited April 18, 2005 by Bboy
Lone Shadow Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 I agree with Regel, nice work. Knowing that someone who used to care, doesn't anymore, can be one of the most difficult things to accept.
