JaZzMaN251 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I've got this small piece of ground, with grass on it. Each blade of grass has it's own shape, length, width and colour. Naturally they're all green, but still, they have small differences. I can look at it for hours, just to see the grass moving from the left to the right, and from the right to the left and back again. Most interesting about the grass, is that all blades move separately, but together they are one. A constant contact between the blades of grass, they can get in a tangle. Some of those tangles can last long, but eventually, they all get disentangled. As the grass grows, other plants, like flowers, also grow which make my small piece of ground look beautiful. The only thing is, that grass grows quicker than flowers.
Zariah Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 This reminds me of a dear friend of mine, and his deep interest in observing nature. I like the line "The only thing is, that the grass grows quicker than the flowers", because that line could be the beginning of a different poem... A poem about life.... I liked this!
Cerulean Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 *Helga warps in to Jazzy's post, eyes bulging with wonder, mouth opening and closing like comedy dentures with the effort of seeking conduit for thoughts too monumental to verbalise. Cerulean studies her little tortoise friend carefully and turns to JaZzMaN251 to translate. I think she's asking if she can visit. * ** I loved this quirky piece. I watch small things too like grass and flowers. And suddenly, through the watching, they lose their smallness and become metaphors that startle me. I like observations that penetrate, welcome again to The Pen. I look forward to reading more of your poems. C.
Degenero Angelus Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 A small interpretation/reply by Deggy. Grass grows long because of rain Old, dried grass dies without fresh water. Life giving water brings deadly lightning Strong grass remains untouched. The blades grow tall strengthed by freshness Stagnant pairs die as the new ones grow Flowers may be prettier, but they die faster too Even bare ground is beautiful With the right grass there
Sweetcherrie Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 A nice and peaceful vision *hugs JaZzMaN* Thank you for sharing
