NightFae Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 Valentine's Day, a day of love A day no one ever lets go of A day of flowers, a day of gifts Girls given presents they can't even lift I just can't stand it, this holiday sucks It's still not over...Just my luck
Appy Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 Now this reflects how I feel about Valentine's day heh! Well done. Silly little holidays thought up by multi-faced concerns to bring in some more money. To me, everyday my husband shows me he loves me, with every minute gesture, and me attempting to do the same, to me that's love. I don't need only one day per year to act it. Again, well done. Both on the structure and the message (from my point of few at least ) And welcom to the pen
Regel Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Ah... Hallmark employs many writers. Florists need the business as do chocolateers and even though I am a not a romantic, I still send my mom a dozen red and white carnations (just like my dad used to do every Valentine's Day). There is no hard and fast rule that says it is strictly for lovers. There are many sweet people in this world that you can take notice of and spoil just a little bit. The commercialism annoys me as well because it seems to make people do things out of fear or reflex. Do it because you want to for someone special to you. It will makes someones day.
WrenWind Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 even though I am a not a romantic, *chuckles and doesn't believe that by any measure*
Zariah Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Wouldn't it be great if Valentine's Day didn't NEED to exist? If romance and appreciation and love were not taken for granted and condensed into one day? Then, no matter the circumstance, everyone could feel loved...
Quincunx Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 I'm certain only that the long-ago Valentine would have been happier with a longer life.
