The Pen is Mightier than the Sword

I just recently got a really nice electronic dictionary/thesaurus (and lots of other features), and I figured people here would appreciate it most. At school I show my new toy, and I don't think they are too impressed. But if they'd know of the hardships of having to carry those fairly bulky books--or being forced to go without--then they'd understand. My now obsolete book dictionary only had 80,000 or so words in it, and I was becoming quite frustrated at spending the time looking up words only to find that they were not in it. I haven't been having that problem anymore; I think my electronic dictionary has around 260,000 words in it. My iPod and that are now my two most prized possessions.

Anyhow, I just thought I'd express my pleasure--with so little of it going around, one must seize the moment. I'm wasting time, putting off going back to my studies...

ohohohohoh sweet!!!!! colour me envious! =)

one of the bookmarks which remains, under whatever circumstances, near the top of my list is Refdesk, simply because i can access dictionary and thesaurus and all kinds of neat stuff all in one place, and i've long since lost track of the times i've been out and wished i could hop in there and check the thesaurus for the word i wanted which was just barely out of reach.

you are one lucky young man. =)

enjoy it!

was it a gift? if so, that was exceptionally thoughtful and aware, in which case you're doubly fortunate. =)

*hugs*

Sounds awesome. My most prized program for my PDA is my Oxford Dictionary/Thesaurus. I'm not sure how many words it has, I certainly have run into the occasional word that I looked up and wasn't in it, but even with that and the fact it cost $60CD, I find it well worth it. It's my most-used and most-loved application. So useful to have one handy!

It was a gift from myself to myself. I'm a very giving individual. ;)

One of the features I really love is that you can store up to 40 words in a word list. It's a great way to build your vocabulary, as opposed to possibly forgetting the word you just looked up.
