Gryphon Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 My post was certainly all character background. I had to come up with some kind of an explanation of who I was for myself otherwise I'd not have known who I was playing in game... Like I said right back at the start, I'm really not used to playing priestly characters no matter what religion.
Quincunx Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 The more I think about it, the more I think a roomful of serial killers might not be the best Werewolf setting; it'd probably take less than a day for one of them to snap and start killing the competition, votes or no votes. It would, at least, be a fast Werewolf game. However, maybe a nest of fanatics under one charismatic leader would work, as everyone backstabs figuratively and literally for favor in the leader's eyes, or plots an escape and starts lynching everyone who might tattletale. Guild politics at its worst.

Sorry but, as I said... it's not fair to any side to have inactive players to account for.
Sweetcherrie Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 It's actually a relief not having to think about who to accuse and why for a moment Now Brother Gulzar can devote his time to other things... - Sweetcherrie
dragonqueen Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 That came as a bit of a surprise. It's probably for the best as I'm afraid my posting has declined. It was a good game. Quincunx, I was particulary enjoying your posts.
Tanuchan Posted February 16, 2005 Author Report Posted February 16, 2005 (edited) It's actually a relief not having to think about who to accuse and why for a moment Now Brother Gulzar can devote his time to other things... - Sweetcherrie Like a lawn to play Footbal... *LOL* You're great, Sweetcherrie!! *hugs* 25 hours to vote. Have you noticed that any phase you lose (for both sides) is a step towards doom (=losing the game)? There are just 6 players left... Edited February 16, 2005 by Tanuchan
Sweetcherrie Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 (edited) *Brother Gulzar stumbles in and falls on his knees* "Please God, give my Brothers the strenght to write and defeat these killers." OOC: No seriously, kill those....erm...bad people - Sweetcherrie Edited February 17, 2005 by Sweetcherrie
Gryphon Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 I've this image in my mind of everyone sitting together looking at one another with embarrassed little glances as an uncomfortable silence stretches out towards eternity.
Sweetcherrie Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 (edited) Oops, I almost slipped in a dirty word, and that in the middle of a room filled with silently, staring people. That would have been bad, because that would have echoed horribly. - Sweetcherrie (do you write echood like that ) Edit: grammar changes Edited February 17, 2005 by Sweetcherrie
Katzaniel Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 You would want "echoed". Also, the "wood" you used (just trying to be helpful, BTW, tell me I'm annoying instead) is the material that comes from trees. You meant "would have been bad". Cheers, Katz PS. Kill those wolves! Yeeeaaaaaaarrrrgh!
Venefyxatu Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 Katz, you beat me to it! I wanted to make those corrections Either way : killum killum killum! Go geddum!
Sweetcherrie Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 Nope nothing annoying at all. I just make silly mistakes every now and then, and what better way to learn than having excellent teachers around with the answers Thanks! - Sweetcherrie
Gryphon Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 Quincunx: The serial killer theme might work, if you had them all locked up so that they couldn't kill one another. Lynchings / kills were done by bribing guards to leave a door unlocked, or a restraint off or some such thing. You'd need to work out the logistics of how to run the game. I'm not so sure that 'find the innocent' would work since the innocent would probably be the first to die unless you had someone who talked tough / looked tough who was pretending to be a killer but who really wasn't.
Tanuchan Posted February 17, 2005 Author Report Posted February 17, 2005 (edited) Ideas (for whoever mods that to sort out) 1) The Serial Killers are the 'guinea pigs' for a new psychiatric treatment; the wolves are avengers, people related to someone they've killed and who infiltrated in the group to take justice in their own hands. Seer is a serial killer who's an expert in security systems and got a way to use the hospital's system to spy on his companions. Baner is somewhat of a problem, but could be for example a researcher who took the risk of infiltrating among them to be sure that they didn't get the chance to kill each other. 2) The Serial Killers were hired by a Big Villain who wants to use them in his organization; the wolves are other members who don't trust the killers and infiltrated the group; Seer and Baner are infiltrated in the group and under orders of the Big Villain, to prevent the killers from killing each other. 3) The Serial Killers are all interns of a specialized asylum, who are carefully kept away from each other except for short periods for 'group dynamics' (those would be the day phases). There's a small group of doctors that don't believe they deserve treatment and who cleverly talked two of the inmates into killing the others, giving them the means for that. The Seer and the Baner can be two specialists (or whatever) who are infiltrated to investigate accusations of ill-treatment and breaches of security. I think any of those would work pretty nicely... Quincunx Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Tanuchan #3: The most well-formed idea and one ready for play. Unfortunately there's a. . .lack of driving force or somesuch. Maybe it's just not evil enough for my view of a serial killers' convention. Tanuchan #2: Guild politics of an Evil Guild. Tanuchan #1: Lynching by ice-pick lobotomy? A "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" approach? (Thanks to Gryphon for sorting out the idea in the first place.)
Mynx Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 *skids into room and jumps up and down* ooo ooo ooo! ....Freddy vs. Jason anyone?

Tanuchan Posted February 20, 2005 Author Report Posted February 20, 2005 *laughs and hugs Mynx* We've missed you, kitty! I wonder how a pompom wielding CheerMynx would fare in the Sith Academy... (Maybe you'd drive the Headmaster crazy... the ultimate Jedi weapon!)
Sweetcherrie Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Kasmandre: Brilliant last post Thanks to all for such a good first game! - Sweetcherrie
Kasmandre Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Thanks for the compliments. This was a lot of fun and I can't wait for the next game to start. Playing as a Sith will be a little different from playing as Good Bennet...
