purple_shadows Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 These are the only finished ones, in no particular oder. enjoy #1 Life's not slow, it comes and goes, Live it while you can. Don't let others drag you down, Don't get lost inside the crowd. Take the chance to speak your mind. Some people are best left behind. #2 Sunrise over skyscrapers A man-made forest Where concrete flows like water #3 The darkness I am not afraid of the dark Though within it I may tremble The flicker of feeble candlelight Does little to mask it, and infact May make it grow When the light goes out, All that surronds you is gone True, you can reach out and touch it But what's the use if you can't see? For you can't feel the emotion of an object To do that you must see it's tone There is nothing in the darkness Nothing to comfort and protect Unless you are there And i can feel your heat You're love and guidence Because you see I'm not afraid of the darkness I'm afraid of being alone #4 Take a look at the beautiful things around you Find them quickly so they thrive Or else like everything that surrounds you They may shrivel up and die Plant your roots firmly in the ground Make it clear just where you stand Or else the wind will sway you And break you from the land #5 The Secrets Out You never listen to a word I say, Black and white, but never grey. If I stand up, you'll make me fall, I cannot live unless i crawl. I can't give up, you won't give in. You use your fist, but you won't win. Blood, bruises, anger, pain, All this hate, yet I remain. You always try to make me cry, What you call me makes me die. Trash, slut, worthless, whore. I don't think I can take much more. Taking what was never yours, You hide it all behind locked doors. Someday i'll posses the key, I'll make you look, and then you'll see.
Knight Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Bravo, Bravo! I like these very much- particularly the Haiku, The Darkness, and The Secret's Out. The Secret's out strikes a particular chord- reminds me of things I've seen all too often... The Haiku is excellent- it is, as a haiku was intended, about nature, but nature of a different sort. And The Darkness reminds me of some of my own writings, even if itt does not hold to a rhyme scheme like I am fond of using. These are all very good.
