Until_It_Sleeps Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 That Night; My Darling, Fate'll Be Ours To Decide These frosted backdrops begin to form on the passenger window, Another sign of cold clashing with the heat we long to radiate, The two extremities kept seperate by such a fragile existence, While the temperature between us ceases to remain comfortable, Our hearts infactuous altitudes were subdued by greater depths. And while the snow condensed heavier upon glass resembling pearls, It was then that our future leaped from the grasp we'd held tight, Quickly chasing it downwards; I'd caught hold of your trailing hand, And slowly squeezed tighter; As if to never let you leave that seat, For tonight; We're the deathly frigid concrete stretched out for miles. Inside; The vents proceed in desperatly creating more false heat, Pumping in its life; So that we can extract however much we desire, While the atmosphere beyond my fingertips reaches another record low, And it led me to wonder; Much like when I'm distracted by your stare, Was that lingering warmth felt shrouding every aspect of the moment; Truely the result of two burning souls? Or artificially manufactured, Even our most elaborate machines can never comprehend loves growing pains, A single emotion; A longing of what once could have been so possible, Steadily multiplying to well up within me; Presenting millions of 'what if's', That very moment; I swear I felt the grope of a hand upon my shoulder, Proving to merely be a request for me to pull to the roads gravel border, Focus diverted from obstacles ahead; And into her equally alarming eyes, As the clock refreshes over the countlessly consumed minutes that pass. Completely oblivious to the surroundings blackened by an opaque windshield, This uninterupted; Seamless aura embraced the interior in it's entirety, As the music seemed to fade on cue; To a subtle contribution of the moment, The next track started as we both inhaled to calm our racing gasps for breath, Reality had ceased its approach ten miles back; Refuelling to follow our journey, And there we sat; Burning uncontrollably as the needle bordered boldened letters, Who clearly stated 'Empty', But were shrouded by the darknesses receeding illumination, We waited in idle for our delayed companion to resume control of our lives courses, But the engine sputtered of starvation; And it's soothing rumble soon came to a halt, As we were left in the night with only each others hold to offer any form of comfort. That night; My darling, Fate'll ours to decide.
