Katzaniel Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 (edited) First off, instructions on voting and so forth: Here. Canla, bard of ages, known in many realms and many planes, renowned for his gift of song, and storytelling, and the sureness of his words. He spoke of truth, guiding, teaching and building the foundation of knowledge. In the world he has many names, and is known as the teacher of the teachers. The pendant was crafted by the druids of the Isle of the mighty and gifted to his form in their world, the Great Merlin. Using the craft of ancients, taught to the Atlantians by the great Canla himself, they created the charm that he wore until the trapping of his physical form, by the sorceress Morgan Le fay. An intricate creation of Celtic knots, and forged in bronze, silver and gold, the pendant holds the gift of words, to any that chooses to wear it. At its centre is a carved tongue, crafted from the artifact that gives the castle in Blarney, Ireland its fame. Each metal of its forging possesses significance, Bronze for the heart of man, imperfect, but strong. Silver for the mind of man, precious, yet can blacken if mistreated. And gold for the soul of man, sacred, ancient, and pure. The combining of the three metals shows the ways of those that misuse the gift of words. Though the heart is strong, and the mind precious, the ability of these to tarnish , taints the soul, bringing imperfection to its gleam. Likewise with the gift of the pendant. To one who possesses a true heart and mind, the gift is pure and untainted, reflecting the beauty of the soul. To one that seeks to misuse it , it taints all he speaks as the lesser metals taint the Purity of the gold. The gift if one of Charisma, persuasion, and teaching, all great to those that treasure them in truth. But tainted can destroy faster than the great weapons of any age. The wearer chooses to have his soul displayed fully in his words, should he chose to place the yoke of burden, on his shoulders. The gift or curse of the pendant comes from the revealing of the wearers soul. By his use of the gift shall he earn glory, or hatred, of all who hear his word. Merelas Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 (edited) In a swirl of flame, Merelas transports himself to the next auction room, the auction for The Pendant of Canla the Silver-tongued. Several around him jumped back at the flames that he stepped out of before dousing them with a wave of his hand. Quickly, he placed his fingertips together before spreading them out in a lightning-quick motion. Sparks flew out of them and conjoined briefly to form a number: 20 With that, he summoned a tower of flames again, which he stepped into, doubtlessly checking the progress of his bids on other items. Mynx Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 With a smirk as she steps out of the shadows, Mynx raises her voice to be heard. "Thirty Geld!" She calls out. Smiling slightly, she conjurs up a chair and seats herself next to the Cryptomancer, summoning a large mug of coffee with a wave of her paw as she grins at her friend over the mug, her eyes glinting with amusement.

Merelas Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Merelas teleports into the room yet again, and whispers to a person in the back, inquiring as to the current level of bid. He winces as he hears, and considers for a few moments. "Are we all finished, sir?" asks the auctioneer, looking at Merelas inquizitively. The fire-elf frowns for a moment, before saying far less vehemently than before, "Five and fifty."
Mynx Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Mynx's ears prick up "55?" she asks, "In that case, 70 geld" Finishing her coffee, she refills it with a wave of her paw and settles back into her chair, raising her eyebrows at Cryptomancer. "Want a coffee?"
